Women's Ultralight 850 Down Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 98.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from They left out some details! I have a 3 year old or more 850 jacket and needed another so ordered again. The sizing is larger and no soft fleece lining in the pockets any longer! No soft lining in the inside of collar. Why did you stop adding these wonderful details? It’s very disappointing to put my hands into cold pockets. I wish you wouldn’t cut corners. These extra details are what made the 850 jacket special. You were alway commited to quality and I’ve come to expect that when I made this purchase. That’s why I’m only giving 4 stars. Please add the fleece back, I would pay $20 more to have the coziness back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Down Jacket Ever! I bought the hooded version of this jacket 5 years ago (and still wear it all the time). I figured I'd take advantage of the great sale price and grab this one too. The color is beautiful - the crimson is a bit richer and darker in person, more of a maroon really. It feels very high quality and fits true to size, with room for layering underneath. These jackets are like a light, surprisingly warm hug... perfect for backcountry trips, hiking, camping, travel and everything in between. Their only Achilles' Heel is that they don't do so well when wet (like nearly all down products). I recommend this jacket highly and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable After using this for an entire season of snowboarding & other wintry outdoor things, usually under a water- and windproof shell, I am ready to declare it my favorite thing ever. Super light, super warm, packable/compressible. The face fabric is silky and slides under and over other layers really well. And, it comes in a petite and fits my mom bod better than any other brand (and I did shop long snd hard). Worn on its own it’s a pretty color and flattering enough (given that it is basically a puffy marshmallow). Today we were at Stowe and it was 5 degrees at the base lodge, and thus coat kept me warm. Five stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expensive, but the material is easy to puncture. This jacket is very expensive, but mine haven't lasted. They'd be okay if you only used them to go to work and back, but don't try working in the yard with them on. They puncture at the first rose thorn, piece of fence wire, cat's claw, or any other sharp object. On the other hand they are warm for their weight, mostly wind and water resistant. They just aren't useful for a person like me, and like I said they are extremely expensive for a jacket that you have to treat with kid gloves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite jacket! I’d been looking at this jacket for ages when I finally broke down and ordered it. I’m so glad I did! As a Pacific Northwest transplant to the upper Midwest I was well stocked for rain, but less for bone chilling cold. I needed something g between my giant Michelin man long down coat and my gortex shell. This fits the bill beautifully and is super cute besides! I’m really pleased and suspect it will get a lot of wear this fall/ winter The jacket fits as expected. I have room for a light layer underneath. And the sleeves are long enough! So tired of jackets with sleeves that are too short. Thank you, LL Bean! My one complaint/ suggestion is that this jacket needs a two way zipper. With a two way zipper it would be perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, warm, and lightweight This is a great jacket. The fit is pretty much true to size, though an extra few inches longer in the torso would be awesome for those of us who are on the taller side. That being said, I don’t mind the length as it is now. There is a slight bit of extra bulk in the shoulder area, but that could come in handy if layering, which I have not yet done. It’s difficult to find sleeves that are long enough for my gorilla arms in general, but these are perfect and hit right below the thumb joint, without interfering with use of my hands. It weighs practically nothing, but keeps me warm and cozy. I like that the pockets are nice and deep, and REALLY love the interior zippered pocket. Overall, a winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ULTRALITE 850 DOWN JACKET Beautiful jacket. Bought it in crimson (sale color - it was a steal). The color is nice, not as rusty as I thought it would be, even slightly on the maroon side. The jacket is the perfect size - not too large, not too tight. Arms are a substantial length. Of course, the quality is wonderful, and it is warm but very light, as described. It has deep zip pockets on the outside and another very deep pocket inside the jacket. My only complaint is that I wish they hadn't put LLBean on the back of the jacket, too. I'm okay with advertising this product, but the logo was already on the front...a little much. If the logo would have been in crimson instead of white, I probably would have been okay with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Last version of this jacket was better... I really wanted to love this jacket. I had the older version of it and it unfortunately got stolen. The older style fit my petite frame better and it hugged to my curves better. This jacket is way poofier than the older style, despite the fact that they both had 850-fill. I really wanted to love it because the down tek material L. L. Bean uses is better compared to other companies down jackets and works well in the rain. I also love that L. L. Bean caters to a petite frame. This is very rare to come across. Wish the jacket fit me better but I have to love the way I feel in a down jacket, it just didn't happen this time. One last thing is I don't care much for the logo being up high on the right side. I know other competitors go that route, but I really appreciated it being on the lower pocket on the older model. L. L. Bean has amazing quality but this jacket just didn't work out for me sadly.
