Men's Cresta Hiking Shorts is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 292.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shorts I've Ever Worn The Men's Cresta Hiking Shorts are better than ever. They are light, sturdy, stylish, and functional. They dry quickly. The cargo pockets are close to the body and do not look baggy. The feature that I am most pleased about is the snap closure that keeps the shorts secure. The snap closure on previous models (2017 and earlier) sometimes would unsnap and a belt was a necessity. The zipper pocket closures are smooth and easy to use. The price is a bit steep, but I usually wait until there is a sale and get a discount. If I had a wish, I would ask for additional dark colors. I rarely write reviews, but this is a great product that I know you will love.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Believe the Listed Size I wear a size 40 for shorts and pants. So when I bought the Men's Cresta Hiking shorts in size 40 waist, I was confident they would fit. Nope! They fell down to my ankles. Perplexed, I measured the shorts, and they turned out to be size 42! So I called LLBean over the telephone. I was informed that my size 40 shorts were actually size 41.75. I did not get a good explanation from LLBean representatives for why the shorts were so much larger than the advertised size. I was told other sizes were also 1.75 inches larger than the list size. So LLBean customers beware! Absolutely do not trust advertised sizes for these shorts. First telephone LLBean to obtain the true and accurate waist sizes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice shorts with one issue... I generally have good things to say about these shorts. They're comfortable and the fabric has proven to be quite durable. The pockets are large and the zippers to keep items from falling out are a great feature. My only complaint is that the zippers on the front cargo pockets are glued (not sewn) in. In both pockets, the glue failed about three years in. The shorts were in otherwise perfect condition, but the zippers had fallen out. My tailor stitched them back in (to the tune of $20) and now all is good, but it's a bit of a disappointment in what's otherwise such a sturdy product. The fact that I was willing to spend $20 to fix a three year old pair of shorts tells you how much I like them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shorts I've had a pair of these for a few years and I like these shorts very much. They're comfortable, the fabric is durable, and the zippered back and cargo pockets are great for hiking - no more worries about stuff dropping out of your pockets. My only real complaint seems to have been addressed: when I purchased mine, the zippers on the cargo pockets were glued (not sewn) on. The glue failed after a couple of years, and I ended up having to get my tailor to sew the zippers in. Looking at the photos on the website today, it appears that the zippers are now sewn in. I just ordered another pair - looking forward to many more years of outdoor activities in these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but prefer Mountain Side Shorts I bought 2 pair of these shorts for my husband. While he likes these shorts, he prefers the previous model named "Mountainside" shorts. On the positive side, the material is lightweight and quick drying. The primary shortcoming of these shorts is the open slash pocket on right leg above the zippered cargo pocket that the Mountainside shorts had is missing on the Cresta Hiking Shorts. The slash pocket was great for carrying a cell phone. While he uses the zippered cargo pocket on the Creata Hiking shorts for his cell phone, it easily slides out, whereas that never happened on the Mountainside. Bring back the Mountainside shorts or add the slash pocket to the Cresta hiking shorts to raise this rating from 3 to 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted I had purchased two pairs of the Men's Cresta Hiking Pants for a trip abroad earlier this year. They fit wonderfully and were extremely lightweight and the perfect travel pants, I purchased this pair of shorts for our vacation at a northwest Wisconsin lake resort. Again, they pack very well, are perfect for wear on a summer day, whether you're at the beach and swim area, on the boat, general daily wear or going out to dinner. I like the deep pockets, the two rear zip pockets and the length for this 75-year-old guy is perfect. Like 99% of LL Bean products, I am very happy with these shorts and would give this product my highest recommendation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these I am female, but find these shorts fit me far better and wear better than similar women's shorts. I would never wear cargo pants or shorts, but the flat pockets on these and the Cresta long pants are unobtrusive but so useful. My phone sits in one pocket, whether at home, working in a casual office or hiking and is very accessible. Last year, as I lost weight, I accidentally ordered the Mountain shorts, which work but are just not the same. Don't change a thing on these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The zippers make these shorts a home run!!! The four zippers are great! Hard to find shorts with four zippers. Great for keys, wallet, and cell phone. My cell phone fits fine in the zipper pocket. I like to lounge around on the floor at home or at the airport. So with the zippers, nothing falls out. The pants are a size large I find, but adjust well. I had these shorts in size 32 waist a few years ago. I gained weight, and went to size 33 in jeans and the shorts still fit fine. Then gaining another ten pounds, and going to size 34 jeans, I ordered new shorts in size 33 and they fit great.
