Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better color choices I tried this jacket on at a retail site, and thought it would be adequate for rain protection in warmer weather. I was looking for a rain shell to pack along. The issue that has stopped me several times from buying this & other women's jackets are the color choices. So often I am seeing women's jackets made in odd fabric colors: washed out anemic pastels, odd colored reds, blues or greens that I do not like. I then admire the men's jackets in rich & complementary colors: deep sapphire, deep admiral blue, rich mountain red, etc. I wish someone would look at this issue and offer better color choices to women. Thank you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT waterproof after wash I bought this in Jan or Feb 2019 to wear in Alaska in June. I have only worn it then. I washed it when we got home in cold water, Tide free & clear, NO fabric softener and air dried. Fast forward to today 12/2 I wore it to snow blow as it was also sleeting. By the time I got inside I was soaked right thru to my bra. The whole inside fabric of the jacket was wet & no water was repelling off of the outside. I did a chat & they state that because I didnt put it in the dryer that is why it wasnt waterproof. So I just put it in the dryer as it was saoked & we will see if that works......if not....it's going back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extemely Small Fit I loved the concept of this jacket and ordered it for a trip to Europe in the fall. However, the sleeves are extremely tight. I can wear between a 2x and 3x normally so I went with the 3x so it would leave room for a sweater or layered top underneath. I was barely able to get my arms into the coat and no way to move in it. I had my husband even try it on and he said the sizing in the arms and shoulder is way off compared to the rest of the jacket size. I would have ordered a size up but it only goes to a 3x. Very disappointing. I am returning this jacket ASAP. Either make the jacket correct sizing or make larger size options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic or Minimalist Rain Coat I bought 2 of these. One for my daughter and one for me to wear during our summer vacation to the UK. I size up jackets as a matter of routine so no issues with sizing. The cut of the jacket lays nice and flatters a large range of body shapes. It has a sense of simple elegance for both my petite daughter and myself. It is a very light weight and kept us dry in the rainy weather. After 1 1/2 years of regular use, it still looks new. I bought a different brand rain coat at the same time but is looks ready for goodwill. The longer I have the jacket the more I like it. This coat is worth the higher price. The only negative was that it is not made in the USA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice--but sizing has changed!... I loved my previous LLBean Trail Model rain jackets. The Small fit perfectly with room for a fleece underneath. BUT, the Small of this new version didn't even fit without a fleece underneath!... So, just know that you'll probably need a larger size than what you may have liked with the former version of this jacket. The Medium fits ok but even it could be a tad larger. I AM glad to see that LLBean has improved the lining--which was always the first thing to wear out and start peeling away, especially in the collar area... Here's hoping this one lasts longer than my last ones!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the jacket, although getting replacement This is a most satisfactory jacket in every way - trim but roomy enough for sweater underneath, great pockets and shapely hood. A little small but still a solid medium for me. Alas, it has a very perceptible weird odor that has not gone away after hanging for a week, that increases with body warmth, and clings to whatever you were wearing underneath! However, LLBean's excellent customer service has come through again - a replacement is already on the way so I can have the jacket in time for an upcoming trip. We are all assuming the odor is an anomaly since no one else has mentioned it - if not, I will post and downgrade this review within the week.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lining Flakes! This is actually my 2nd jacket. The first lasted many years and held up well until it started peeling at the neckline, which caused it to leak when it rained. You sent a replacement (Men's Med. because the women's colors weren't great) which I use when I sail in the rain. It, too, has been excellent in a downpour in our hot climate, but now it, too, is peeling at the neck and the label, which is taped in, is peeling off, as well. This jacket is not nearly as old as my last one was and it isn't worn terribly often because we don't get a lot of rain here. I love that I can roll it up and stash it in my sailing bag and it is otherwise in good shape. Help!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried and True I bought this for my sister on her birthday. I had one myself that was "tried and true." It keeps me dry in constant, steady rain and has shown absolutely no wear in the time I've had it. My sister needed a rain jacket because she lives in a wet climate and the rain jacket she has was not keeping her dry because it was falling apart. When she received this rain jacket she was delighted and in several rains since her birthday she has stayed dry and comfortable. One of the features I like is its inside net pockets. They're big and sturdy enough to hold a 24 ounce water bottle. I also like that I can wear this to protect myself from the wind, even when no rain accompanies it.
