Men's Mountain Classic Down Parka is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 259.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adequate, but not overachieving First, let's be fair here. This is not a flagship product. It's an economy product. I don't expect top-of-the-line features with this price tag. Yes, the hood snaps are plastic. Yes, the zipper is plastic. No, there are no exterior zippers for the pockets. There are no exciting technical features. But for the price, this jacket is warm. It has a removable hood and a double zipper. It's a clean, unaffected look. My biggest gripe is that the inner shell material gets stuck in the zipper when I zip up the double zipper from the bottom. It's not 5 stars for me, but it's a decent 4 for meeting expectations based on the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Parka Coat!!! I know that this isn't considered a coat but this is a great coat lol. It keeps me very warm in 20 degree weather and is not heavy at all. Perfect weight in case you have to take it off and carry it for a while. I love the concealed zippered pockets inside the main pockets. Took me a week to notice those were even there lol.The material looks great and for a parka I definitely recommend it. I would of course tear easily if you snag some jagged metal or broken tree branch but I think it's perfect for the price and weight. Mine is green and I love how it's not too bright. Anyways, great coat! 10 out of 10 stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So close to great, except.... I wanted something that would fit in between my lighter weight, fleece-lined jacket and the seriousness of the Baxter State parka. This coat works great! I purchased the X-large so that it would be comfortable over bulkier sweaters - and it is. The coat has two outside pockets that snap closed. I would have opted for more secure zippers. And, my one big gripe is the inside design. A winter coat really needs a couple of inside pockets or pouches. This would make the coat much more useful and would not decrease the warmth at all. I bought this coat in a local L.L. Bean store and it came with a detachable hood. I did not see this offered online or in a catalog. The hood is a great plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket This is a wonderful jacket-lightweight and warm. It is my go to outerwear for walking the dog and any away from home winter errand. It is in point of fact my second one of these because I punctured the first while doing some yard work and even though I can seal up the puncture and still use the jacket I can't wear it if I'm going to a meeting or someplace not appropriate to wear a torn jacket. I must say my only disappointment ever in a Beane product is that the item shipped to me still had a price tag on it for $169 while the jacket is now selling for $179 which is what I paid.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad Zipper I really wanted to like this jacket. In fact I loved almost everything about it. It's warm, the fit good, and it was nice looking. But, the killer was the zipper. I should have listened to the other reviews because they were right. You will probably have a difficult time zipping the jacket all the way up, and if you do, it's almost impossible to unzip. The zipper works fine up to the neck, but if it's cold and windy and you want the hood up, you will definitely want to zip it all the way. Too bad this does not work. I returned the jacket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inferior closures #1 The cords to snug the hood around the face are a poor design: hard to use yet obtrusive in the face after being snugged. #2 The zipper keeps snagging at the top, close to the neck. It leaves an opening for a 3 or 4 inch draft. The little video in the ad makes excuses for the bottom snags, but there is this problem at the top, too. I wish I had examined the coat more closely before disposing of the box and tags. I guess I can live with it otherwise, but I made the mistake of trusting the company on the fundamentals of closures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Withstands Iowa As a former Californian now living in Iowa, I bought this jacket hoping it would shield me from the state's extreme cold weather. This jacket does the job, AND it looks cute. It just so happened to arrive on my doorstep when temps dropped to about 10degrees--and I was thrilled I could try it out. It works! It kept me toasty, and I love that the hood is also insulated. The fit is just right--I'm able to wear a sweater underneath with room to spare, but it doesn't look too big on me. Hands down a great purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay, but I wouldn't buy it again I bought this parka to add a bit of variety to my winter (2019) closet and you get your money's worth... it adequate to wear with a t-shirt or a sweater when it was in the mid to high 30s, but I was left cold (with a wool sweater, shirt, insulated gloves and a scarf) when it hit low 10s - mid 00s on a windy Toronto winter day. The plastic hoodie buttons would sometimes rip if the wind was too intense. As someone with a slim build, an S fits just right in both length and width and it looks quite nice when worn open. Although I will keep it, it will only see the light of day during fall.
