Rated 5 out of 5 by SandyAgo from Full disclosure: I'm addicted to this jacket OK, I know having this jacket in three colors and being just about to buy a 4th might seem a little over the top, but I can stop anytime..... wait, is that a new color? If I have ever had a piece of clothing that fits me like my own skin, this is it. The fabric is soft but heavier than regular cotton, just right over a tee on a cool evening or a sweater if it's colder. The shoulder fit is great, the waist gives it a feminine feel and somehow the overall effect makes me feel 10# lighter. My only regret is that I haven't seen it in purple (please, LLBean, are you listening??)

Rated 4 out of 5 by taylortree from Love it! This jacket is really cute! I ordered the indigo slate and fossil brown colors and both are true to the colors advertised. My only complaint is the length. The sleeves are at least two inches too short. The overall length falls short and this causes it to flair out some at the bottom. If it had a couple of more inches in length, I feel like it would hang neater. I'm more straight than curvy so the flair wasn't caused by my hips. The material has a good stretch too it and it's lightweight. I wouldn't say it's breathable but it doesn't fit bulky either. I only took a star off due to the length. I really wish it was offered in tall sizes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by sleepiful from Lightweight Jacket Just received this today, so far it seems to fit well and will go nicely layered over a long sleeve tee or light sweater... when it cools down. It is definitely lightweight, which is perfect for a southern California "winter" so I think I'll get a lot of use out of it! It doesn't appear to be made out of different materials as mentioned in another review, but it does have some stitch detailing along the button hole placket area, the inside of the collar, and pockets. There's a cinch tie along the inside waist to bring it in if needed. Have not washed so cannot comment about shrinking or fabric hold up. I'm 5'6" 135 lbs, usually wear a 6-ish for other brands and a S fit well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RedHorse4 from Quality Never Goes Out of Style This is a well made fall jacket. It has all the pockets and snaps to prove it is authentic and wearable. You can easily fit a sweater in the sleeves but nothing too bulky. It's not made for winter but truly will be a fall favorite-great for when the nights are getting cooler and the days shorter. County fair weather.... If you like LL Bean jackets like I do-you won't be disappointed. I am a size 4-bought a small brown-plan on wearing it with long sleeve t-shirts and jeans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sronfloyd from I'm Happy! I am happy with this jacket. I live in Florida, so all I need in winter is a light jacket and this is exactly what I was looking for. The fabric is for sure not heavy but it will work well for layering. I love all the pockets. I ordered in Carbon Navy and Dark Taupe, I ended up keeping the Navy. I'm 5'8" with a slim build and ordered a Small. My only slight wish would be for a longer length... I like my jackets to sit past my bum and this one just barely skims the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Eppie from Comfortable The Ripstop Field Jacket is a great option for cooler Spring and Fall days. Small fits well, with room for layering. Looks good either way and allows for freedom of movement. Fabric is high quality and looks like it will wear well. I did wash according to instructions prior to wearing. Washed in cold on delicate and dried on low. Had no issues with wrinkling as I've seen in other reviews. Jacket fabric has relaxed, comfortable look to me, which I like. It does not have a freshly ironed, starched look. Not sure if it's designed to. Suppose you could iron if you like.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Dibs from Wrinkled mess If you are new to Bean, or haven't purchased from Bean for a while, I recommend you order a size up. I am a size 16. For many years, a size L from Bean fit me (and my old size L's from Bean still fit). But Bean seemed to change its sizing a few years ago and now I need to wear n XL. Now as to this jacket, note that the fabric is thin, like a shirt. The instructions said to wash before wearing since the dye could rub off. After washing, the jacket is a wrinkled mess. I steamed the jacket to remove the wrinkles but that did not help much. Am returning and will try the utility jacket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jojo27 from Wrinkles badly I bought this jacket because it was a light color with large pockets. I only bought the ripstop because of the color. It arrived wrinkled. Directions said to wash before wearing. After washing in cold water and drying on very low heat according to the directions, it was wrinkled worse than ever. To make matters worse, all the seams, including the zipper, puckered badly. Due to all the seams and pockets, ironing was very difficult and time-consuming. Because the seams and zipper were still so puckered, ironing didn’t help much. I have several field jackets and expect them to look casual, but this looks unkempt. I’m keeping it because it’s the only light colored field jacket that I’ve found with large pockets that hold my phone and wallet, but I’m not very happy with it.
