Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really is as advertised! Just received the Men's PrimaLoft Packaway Jacket in Medium in the killer color Carbon Navy w/orange zipper. I opened the package put on the jacket, fell in love with it, and took the dogs for a walk. It's a real feel of 37 today (1/29/18) here in Brooklyn with winds blowing at 13 mph. I couldn't believe it but this jacket kept me warm with just a t-shirt and regular button shirt underneath. The jacket is so light weight I thought I'd freeze - but no, this new technology works! I always wear medium in LL Bean jackets and they fit perfectly. This jacket is no exception. Good work LL Bean! (BTW I'm 5'8"/175 lbs)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Jacket; Beware the Zippers This jacket actually replaces the same one from two years ago because the zipper completely failed. Bean replaced the jacket (thank you!) and when I offered to buy a different one, my son wanted the same one. It's light so he can carry it at school (no need for a locker), and it's surprisingly warm in most conditions. If I could wave my magic wand over Bean's product line, I would fix the darned zippers. I have the women's version of this coat--zipper on one pocket is kaput, a zipper on son's backpack failed, and I returned a primaloft packaway parka last year because the zipper busted. Let's hear it for better zippers!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2nd one is not the charm This is the second jacket I have purchased. Love the pack ability of it, however this one is much smaller than my first one. They are both the same size, XL Tall, but the first one has more room! This jacket is tight! I saw a review that said it ran small, but this this is no way an XL in the body. Sleeves and length are fine but for this jacket to fit right I need to lose 25 to 30 lbs. Funny thing is my old jacket (3 years old) has fit fine and has plenty of room, much better than my new one. If it wasn’t old and beat up I wouldn’t be looking to replace it. Thinking about sending it back and trying again in the fall when they have a new lot. Disappointing for LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket We purchased this jacket specifically for a trip to Patagonia, where we expected a variety of weather and needed a lightweight, warm, and packable jacket. This was a perfect choice. The zipper pockets are generous, the blue color was flattering and showed up nicely in our travel pics, and the warmth this lightweight jacket provided was surprising. On wet days, a waterproof jacket over this jacket was perfect. On days when extra warmth wasn't needed, this jacket acted as a lightweight windbreaker when partially unzipped. It's the Goldilocks of jackets! I wholeheartedly recommend this winner!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sized slightly larger than before Previously had 2014 Packaway jacket (raglan sleeves, stuff pocket in left waist pocket), which rocked and subsequently was loved to death. This 2019 model (concentional cut shoulders, stuff pocket added to inside left chest) comes down longer past waist (1"), slightly higher collar when zipped up (1/2"), has slightly roomier arm girth (3/4"), but still has approximately the same length sleeves. So overall aesthetically not quite as slim/fitted as before, but still a fine layering system equivalent to a medium-weight fleece, and paired together with a fleece pullover and a light waterproof jacket makes a good shoulder-season day-hike system for shedding/adding layers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Better than before!! I wanted to write a review on this jacket because I actually bought 2 of these jackets. Last year I bought a Medium Blue but the fit was all wrong. It was baggy and really fit like a large instead of a medium. They clearly re-fit these a jackets this year. I went to a store to try on a medium and it fit great. It's definitely tailored better and when zipped up there is no bagginess or puffiness. I bought the Blue with Orange this year and it's amazing in person. The jacket is true to size this year and still super warm. Absolutely love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, Grab and Go I really like how light this jacket is for the warmth it provides. When I was travelling for business, I liked folding this jacket down and stuffing it in my carry-on. That way I always had a jacket that would serve me in all but really cold conditions, and it was it wasn't taking up precious space. As been said in a few other reviews, the temperature rating assumes you are wearing layers and you have some level of activity beyond just sitting or standing around. With a short sleeve polo, a lightweight fleece and this jacket, I'm good for a walk in ~ +20F weather. Colder than that, and you need extra layers or you need to treat this jacket as a middle layer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Large Tall, Weird Fit, Not the Best Quality Bought a large tall hoping it would be tall fitting. The tall fits like a regular in other brands and is quite fitted. Not the best if you are planning on wearing this over a sweatshirt. The arms are longer than expected as well. The jacket is super lightweight which is nice and parkway feature is convenient. My biggest complaint is the quality of the stitching. I found the insulation pushing out of the seams which is becoming more apparent as the jacket wears. Not what I expected from a $170 base layer jacket. L.L. Bean could have done better with the quality and fit on this one.
