Rated 4 out of 5 by DDMthoughts from Quality and Length This is the fourth or fifth pair of LL Bean slacks I've bought and, except for the length, I'm very satisfied with them. My leg length is 28 inches. The shortest you offer is 29 inches. This ,means I have to shorten a new pair of tailor made pants before I can wear them. They wear like iron so I'm extra pleased with their durability. The comfort fit is just what I need to fit my expanding and contracting waist. If I ever conquer My expanding waist line I will have to buy a new group of slacks. Unfortunately I cannot expand my leg length so I will again have to shorten the length of my new trousers. It would be nice if you offered a 28 inch length.

Rated 4 out of 5 by clammy from Love 'em I have been buying these chinos, khaki-color, for years. I wear them everywhere; shopping, gardening, sometimes, with a jacket, to church. Lately, I have made good use of the comfort waist feature which allows some flexibility in matching standard sizes to my aging body. The wrinkle-free feature is great, but there is a trade-off; the material stains easily and many of the stains are impossible to remove. Usually the service life of the pants is determined by the staining rather than wear. If you are into colors darker than khaki, this might not be a problem

Rated 5 out of 5 by traveler12345 from Excellent quality I got these to serve as everyday trousers or, when on travel, to fit with a blue blazer or khaki travel jacket when lecturing. (Good color match with my LL Bean travel jacket). The button front fly is not as dressy as would be a clip, but it is fine. They are just right: good quality fabric, not too heavy for warm weather. Nice deep pockets. I need the expandable waist, but would have appreciated slightly shorter length (not available in my waist size). When I called to enquire about delay, I was immediately speaking with a very polite lady who kindly looked up the record; I had overlooked that these were back ordered. Top marks for service.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Parkerche from Double L pant cuffs wear I have many of these pants, bought over the years. They have all worn very rapidly ("frayed") at the cuffs. This generally takes about six months of normal wear, then they are designated as "yard pants". That being said, they are likely the best overall casual work pant on the market, except for that flaw. I cannot in all honesty recommend them to all users, due to the cuff wear issue. I am willing to accept the issue, although I have been "looking around" for alternatives in the last several months, for spring wear. I assume the wear issue is the result of the resins used to protect the fabric from stains and wrinkles, which make the fabric "stiff enough" to stress crack over time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MrKent from Not Wrinkle Free But Very Good Slacks First off these are not by any stretch of the imagination wrinkle free. We use one of those fancy new dryers with all the bells and whistles and most of our clothes come out with no need for ironing. These pants require regular ironing to remove all of the wrinkles. Further they quickly wrinkle when worn showing the dreaded crotch creases after you sit down. Now, aside from the wrinkling this is my second pair. They fit very well and are comfortable. I am hoping that like other LLBean pants I have worn they will last for a few years. I am past the years that a crisp pair of freshly pressed pants are a priority and am looking for comfort and long life.

Rated 3 out of 5 by pcbusters from Great pants poor quality of material These are great pants. I have been buying them for at least the last 10+ years. I wear them all the time, because they look good and they fit very well. My issue is with the fabric that has been used on the last four sets of pants I have purchased. The pants have frayed in the waist and pant cuff areas. I have never seen this before with any pair of pants I have owned. I purchased more pants to replace these, so I am hoping this will not happen again. Time will tell what happens. LL Bean was quick to credit the cost of the replacement pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MyAuntKnewLL from Hate having to pay to have tailored I won't stop buying this excellent item, and I won't stop being upset that while I'm tall, I have to have an inseam shorter than offered. Sick of the tailoring fee, and don't understand why the shortest inseam is 29 inches, when I need 28. When I wear my older pairs and people ask me where I got the silly pants with the frayed cuffs, I regretfully have to tell them L. L .Bean. I feel sure L. L would have done something about the situation, which the current organization has not. Hopefully, some day, my excellent old "long" ones will wear out completely so L. L. Bean will no longer be a source of ridicule.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PAStreamgeek from The Best. Period I've been wearing these pants for well over 20 years. They area a solid value, rugged garment and a wardrobe staple. These pants are well made and can go from a casual outing on Saturday to church the next morning, with just the addition of a nicer shirt and sportcoat. The comfort waist really is comfortable, unseen, and a great bit of insurance as your waist fluctuates with the season, or creeps steadily up or down (usually up). Fantastic addition to an already great product. You can get a cheaper pair of chinos, but you'll go through 4 pairs of them before you wear out one pair of these.
