    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight pants I love these pants and practically live in them even off trail. I bought them in every color. They are lightweight and great for having some protection from the elements even in super hot weather. I add a light base layer for cooler temps. There is also a fleece-lined version for winter. Even though they are lightweight, they are durable. I have scrambled up and down many a mountain wearing them, including lots of butt sliding. I have come down with scrapes and bruises but the pants were fine. My only problem with them is the zipper on the front pockets have broken on me twice. I returned them to LL Bean and they gave me a credit.

    Rated 2 out of 5 by from Misleading Title I loved the fit of these pants and so was disappointed with the thinness of the fabric. This is not a fabric that can withstand the rigors of hiking, as it snags with the slightest contact with almost any surface. I purchased 3 pair and returned them all and never wore one of them on a trail. Yet within my home I managed to snag a pair without even knowing how it happened. I think the title of "Trekking Pants" is misleading and I would not recommend these pants for hiking.
