Rated 5 out of 5 by Figment from Toasty warmth in a tiny package This vest is wonderful. Not only is it the perfect core layer of warmth (around the house and outdoors) but the pockets are just the right size. Good for you for understanding that women need both an interior and exterior zipper chest pocket, for carrying a wallet, keys, and a phone with a protective case. No pocketbook necessary--and that's so freeing! I bought the "Night" color; a deep rich navy that's great with jeans. No contrasting zippers for me. My only criticism is the colors--the women's version needs a good dark green without bright contrast, for those of us who like to be unobtrusive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by classyandcomfortable from Love the fit! Ultralight 850 Down Sweater Vest! Love these! I originally ordered two of the petite mediums, because in vests and some other tops, I do like the shorter length, especially if I have a longer shirt on underneath. I am 5'5.5" and about 155-160 and I originally ordered the mediums but they were just a bit big. I re-ordered the same two colors, orchid and light turquoise plus the yellow in petite smalls to see which fit I liked better. I am keeping the PSmalls and returning the PMediums. Even over 36D chest, I like the small fit better. Love these vests, and I like the fact when not zipped, they still hang close to your body and not fly open and make you look excessively wide or large. These are keepers and will be my go-tos!

Rated 3 out of 5 by notsoColdinColorado from Good item but needs a slight improvement My main objection to this vest and most of the LLBean vests and jackets is that the zipper is one way. Why would I want to keep my torso warm , then have to completely unzip the jacket or vest when sitting in my car? Or have it poof up to my chin if I keep it zipped? LLBean-please do more 2 way zippers! Your coats have that feature; a Thinsulate vest I bought from you years ago has that feature-PLEASE get more 2 way zippered items! I am seriously considering having the zipper on this replaced just so it has that convenience! Otherwise-comfortable and extremely lightweight. It almost feels as though there is no filler. Has not been cold enough here to truly test its warmth, but I am reviewing it in the hopes that someone from LLBean will start buying MORE TWO WAY ZIPPERED items.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FightRSDnCRPS from Comfortable, warm, packable! I love these vests! I actually own three of them! I love that they are packable and extremely light because I can easily carry one in my bag in case I get cold. However, I would suggest that they be made with two way zippers as other reviewers have suggested. Otherwise, they tend to puff up when you sit down. I love being able to layer these vests under the ultralight 850 down jacket when I'm really cold. They are also really versatile in that you can wear them over long sleeved t-shirts, flannels, or sweaters. They look great with jeans, yoga pants, leggings, or khakis (I don't really wear skirts, but I'm sure they would work with them too). These vests are great for traveling because they go with so many things and can be packed so easily! They keep out the wind and they are water resistant too! For reference, I am 5'8" and 140 lbs., and I ordered a medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2bgourmet from Great warm thin vest! I needed a vest to go under a raincoat for an upcoming trip. This vest is thin and warm. Other vests I tried were to bulky. It is not on the cheap side, but I figured this will be a good piece to add to my wardrobe and should last many years. Made well and very comfortable. I wear a size 12. The medium fit with a thin shirt underneath, but I wanted a little room for a sweater underneath, so I ordered a large and if fits great! The blue color is very nice!

Rated 4 out of 5 by michlin2 from Ultralight 850 Wanted to love this vest! I did end up returning it. The LLBean is a respected brand, but I just didn't like the LLBean Icon in bright white hanging on the bottom of the vest. It all in all is nice if you don't mind the advertising. The fit seemed a bit big, but it was nice & comfy if you might add a thick sweater. A two way zip would totally enhance the comfort level.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DDTMom from Wanted to love as much as the jacket... The red is a gorgeous color but the dark feathers show through. I have the olive in the jacket and was spared. Also since on steroids, I find that the size large which usually fits in the jacket and other jackets is just too snug in my stomach in the vest. I will be returning reluctantly since the weight and color are just so nice!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MiamiOH from Almost perfect I'm an almost perfectly true size 12; approximately 5'6-5'7 with most of my height in my torso, 36D chest, hourglass shape, but I'm really between sizes on this vest. The medium is nearly perfect, but a little snug in the hips and bunches up at the back a bit, whereas the large is a bit big in the upper chest. My conundrum is whether to keep the slightly small vest because it looks better with light sweaters and shirts, or to keep the slightly big vest because it gives me the ability to wear it with slightly more substantial layers. The vest looks exactly as depicted on the site. I ordered both the black and the avocado colors and was not surprised. Ultimately I'll only be keeping the black for 2 reasons: 1) I don't have as much to wear with the avocado and 2) for the money, it's really pretty pricey to keep a vest I won't wear all the time. For the fit and the overall cost, I knocked it down 1 star. The quality seems good per usual for LLBean, the vest is extremely lightweight, and I have no doubt it will stand the test of of time. My only request would be to add other "neutral" shades like navy or grey for the future because while colorful vests are great, if you're asking us to pay at this (high) price point, I need more versatility.
