Rated 5 out of 5 by Mervich from Another Pair! Mr. Bean's Casco Bay Boat Mocs are my personal favorites. These Briar/Brown examples are my sixth pair! I have and have had Sperry and Sebago boat shoes…no others can match Bean's Casco Bay. Some reviewers have reported these run large, but I don't share that opinion…unless one is comparing them to Sperry Top Siders, which, to me run very narrow and a bit short. I find there is no break-in for Casco Bay Mocs…comfortable right out of the box.The color combination of waxy briar/brown is really nice…maybe a just bit darker than pictured. The leather is thick and soft. As for me, Casco Bay Mocs are a win-win…can't seem to get enough!

Rated 5 out of 5 by averyloyalcustomer from Simply The Best Boat Shoe Purchased a pair a year ago and just received a second pair for "going to Church on Sunday". I've tried all boat shoes available from the name brands and ALL more expensive than these boat shoes. The best feature is the ability to simply step into the shoe; I do not need to wrangle with the back of the shoe to pull over my heel. In my opinion, there is no better boat shoe for the price...hand-sewn. Never, ever have had an issue wearing barefoot...I find simply bizarre any review comment about this shoe "chaffing the foot to the point of bleeding"...and I am NOT a L.L. Bean employee...wish I was...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Max77 from Great shoe, runs narrow I ordered a 9 1/2 as that is the size I use for all my shoes. As for the width I ordered the standard medium size since I've never had to consider the width of any shoe I have purchased before. When I got the shoes they were very tight but they also arrived with a note saying to give them a couple of weeks to conform to my foot--they did not. So I returned them and got the wider EE and they fit fine and were very comfortable. I think LLBean should include width specifications--inches and centimeters--just as they do for length on these shoes so it is easier to know before ordering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BLBean from Can I have some more? I was really skeptical about buying these online after trying on several different types of boat shoes and finding them to all be too narrow. These fit my one foot snuggly but not too tight (I ordered the wide). After wearing them for only a few hours, I put them to the test by wearing them to Disney World which meant a ton of walking. They are very comfortable - I wear them without socks and never got a blister or anything. They look great and are so comfortable they are the only shoes I want to wear now. I'll probably grab another pair in a different color for the summer. Highly recommended.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jovius from You get what you pay for Although they say it's everything like other boat shoes except for the price, I beg to differ. Immediately you can feel the difference. The leather is thin and plastic feeling. Like the Signature Blucher Mocs, they never really broke in and continued feeling uncomfortable. Even with socks, they chafed my heels. My Sperry Top-Siders were better. I think what companies like L.L.Bean need to figure out is that we wouldn't mind paying a little more if the product were higher quality. As it stands, they seem to be using the cheapest methods available and their brand image is suffering as a result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NateF from Better fit & price than Sperry Top-Siders Love these, I bought the classic looking "canyon" colour. Great for dress casual outings and boating of course. I have slightly wide feet and thought I would need to buy wide fit or go up 1/2-1 size in the regular fit but that was not the case. They are true to size and there is no need to adapt your sizing. Any other brand of boat shoes I have tried on before have fit very narrow but these are nice and comfortable with or without socks, though I would not recommend anything thicker than a typical cotton sock but that is to be expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mikemcdonald50 from Great Boat Shoes - My 3rd Pair! I now have two pairs of chocolate/white soles for boating and one in canyon/brown soles I'm using for casual days at work. I haven't worn the canyon ones on a boat. The white soles are non-marking. The chocolate ones have more of a soft, almost suede feel and the canyon ones have a smoother tanned finish. The canyon ones took slightly longer to break in. In either color, these shoes quickly conformed to the shape of my feet. I often get them wet, even in salt water. I seldom wear socks. Because they are made of all leather, they don't smell bad. The quality of construction is very high. My old ones are more comfortable than slippers. I don't want to throw them away even though the soles are bare! I highly recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanerer from Casco Bay boat shoe These boat shoes lasted 7 years of hard use. They do it all: stream crossings, concerts, late-night hikes, dinner dates, sauna-to-the-lake-and-back, etc. They polish up well (this improves longevity too), they get better with wear, and they go with just about any style. However, my favorite feature is that I've worn these barefoot for years and they DO NOT stink. I don't have particularly smelly feet, but I've shoved my very dirty, stinky feet into these shoes countless times. I just smelled them and they smell like leather.
