Rated 1 out of 5 by Zoeybeagle from Warm and windproof but..... Purchased this coat for Wyoming Winter snow and wind. The longer length is great, and it is indeed warm and windproof - exactly what I wanted. However, as has been noted by other reviewers (which were not available when I ordered the coat) it sheds feathers constantly. I've picked off 12 or more feathers off my car seat and my clothes every time I wear it. I'm embarrassed when I ride in other people's vehicles and find feathers on the car seat! Wouldn't wear it anyplace more public that the grocery store. For the price I paid for this coat, I am disappointed in the quality. I have always expected much better from LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stonecold from Great Stylish Coat Love the shape, nice and long enough for me. Completely covers the behind and tucks in nicely at the thighs. I am so relieved that this coat finally has wind block...something that none of the other down ll. bean coats have -apart from a short ski jacket. You have to size up in this coat by one size-I recommend this after trying it on in the store. The chest area is slightly tighter than the waist and hip zone.Apparently this is downtek fabric out of duck down as per customer service.Great..Colors Pretty..Also-tumble dry in (not previously heated dryer) on lowest possible setting for 1/2 hour.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Karissa23 from Worst coat purchase ever I am extremely upset that I purchased this coat. Biggest waste of $200+. The coat fits great and is warm, but having it not even 2 full months, feathers are coming out through the seams everywhere. It looks terrible. I can’t wear this Black coat out in public with white feathers sticking out. I am kicking myself for not reading the reviews before I purchased this coat; however, I bought it in the store and didn’t think to check reviews before purchasing. This was my first L.L. Bean coat purchase, thinking it was a good investment/good quality, but I was mistaken terribly. Do not waste your money on this coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PrettyDarkEyes from Wonderfully warm and light! This is great for those bitter cold and windy days and still comfy when the temps get higher, i.e, 30s-40s. I would have rated this 5 stars if it had the sweater cuffs to keep it out the wind. That would have made this really perfect. Love the olive green color, very stylish. The size I ordered is true to fit and can accommodate a medium weight sweater underneath. I’ve only had this about a week and we’ve had no snow yet so cannot comment on the waterproof feature. I bought this to replace a 10-yr old bulky and heavy down coat that must have weighed 15 pounds; this coat is light and lovely. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by scamp from Warm and cozy, but not durable This jacket certainly kept me warm, but it is a total mess after one winter. Every time my dog jumped up on me or I brushed door frame or something similar, a new tear formed. Even in places that never had no contact with something that might tear it (like the seams on the upper back), there is down coming out of it. I have probably lost half the feathers in this thing. While I was told that duck tape on your down coat is totally a Maine look, I would have liked it to be duck tape free for at least a few months. On the plus side, this thing is like going outside in a sleeping bag - certainly what I needed for frigid Maine nights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ileneL from Women's Stretch Down Puffer Coat I saw this coat on sale and I didn't have a winter coat that length so I purchased it. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews because I love this coat. I haven't had any feather problems but all goose down coats will have some feathers come out. It's to be expected. I bought it in Gunmetal Grey, as I have Gunmetal Grey gloves. They match very nicely. The coat is light and very warm. It protects against the wind when zipped up and the hood is on. The stretch fit is nice, too. The side pockets are very deep and my cell phone fits easily in the inner pocket. I would highly recommend this coat. Especially on sale and with Bean Bucks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by NewEnglandShopper from Perfect coat, except the stuffing I love this coat. It's super comfortable...I have a wider back and thicker arms and it's really hard for me to find a comfortable warm winter coat, and this one is awesome. It has stretch so it fits like a glove, and I can layer as much as I need to. It's very warm, soft and comfortable. Has gotten me through many hours in the hockey rink, staying nice and toasty. Again, I love it.. Unfortunately, like the other reviewers said, it has a fatal flaw...the stuffing comes out. Soooo disappointing. It's okay for me during this first season, but I am very concerned it won't be warm enough next season if the stuffing keeps coming out. Please, please, please LL Bean, fix this flaw and give us all new coats! :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by SimpleGal21 from Way short of LLBean standards. I loved the color (Dark Cinder) and the fit — it was spot-on for measurements! But there were too many issues... The hood never stayed attached due to the type of snaps used. The pockets (which I only ever used to store my mittens) ripped at the bottom, exposing feathers. The seams in the shoulders popped when I moved. And feathers leaked EVERYWHERE. At first, it was a minor annoyance, but this was above and beyond. I wore it for two months, and it kept me SO warm, but I was too annoyed by all these issues. Back it went.
