Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality By the end of the first winter I had this, the jacket had at least two little rips in the outside fabric and the inside stuffing was coming out of them. The jacket is now in the middle of it's second winter, and it has more rips and looks awful. I wore the jacket frequently throughout our long Minnesota winter, but just for going to work and doing light errands, so I was pretty disappointed in the poor quality. I also feel like it isn't warm enough at 25-30 degrees for briefly going from my car to work with a sweater on under it. One good thing is that it's not bulky, which is great for stuffing in a bag while traveling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice lightweight jacket I purchased this jacket with the expectation that it would be a non-bulky, travel easy wind shell. I did not expect it to keep me warm in the dead of Wisconsin winters. I like the material. It does not stick to my clothing, and dog hair is a non-issue - which is big for me, because I have 3 fur pals. I also purchased the longer coat version, and layer them when it is cold-cold. I know it is a lot to spend, having to purchase 2 versions of this coat, but I find the 2 layers keep me plenty warm without having to resort to big bulky outerwear. I also went up a size for more room. I avoid down for my own personal reasons, so this combo works for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would Recommend I love this jacket. It's lightweight, warm, seems to block wind, and looks great. I typically wear a small in other outdoor brands but exchanged this for an extra small. I find it still roomy enough for a sweater if I need one. I haven't had the opportunity to use it in truly cold weather, but I wear it often in damp, breezy, 40 degree weather to walk dogs, with a light sweater or even just a long sleeve t-shirt under. I am a bit cool at the beginning but within ten minutes I am unzipping the jacket slightly for venting purposes. So, if you're stationary, you may want an extra layer, but if you're moving, it's warm as toast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Travel I bought this for travel. It is light, but very warm. It kept me warm & comfortable on the plane. Then, I stood out in the cold (20 F) for 15 minutes in Detroit past midnight waiting for a hotel shuttle and I was not cold at all (and I'm always cold). It packs up into its own pocket and can be stowed in a carry-on. My only 2 complaints: the hood was too big for me, but I do have a small head; the sleeves were about 3 inches too long (I rolled up), but this is always a problem for my short arms when I buy any long sleeve item. I liked it so much that my husband bought the same jacket for himself and he loves it too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits well, sized down I recently bought this jacket in PL, decided it was too big on the bottom, exchanged it for a PM, which fits much better, more stylish, more fitted. Sleeves are a bit bulky, but I can layer underneath. I have 2 other jackets w/o hoods, older style, boxy. This one is more stylish, now that I have the correct size. I reviewed the PL already, but this is a better fit. Only think I haven't tried out yet is how warm it will be for Cape Cod winters, & how waterproof. I like that it is lightweight. I also got the sweater down jacket, & am trying to decide between them. Both are fitted, have hoods, PM, blue. Decisions, decisions!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from comfortable They have tapered the bottom of this jacket making it much, much more acceptable. I usually wear a large. With an XL I can get a light-weight layer under this jacket which you will need to stay warm on a windy 50 degree day. I agree with others that no way would this jacket keep you warm at 35 degrees. I have not worn it in an average rain storm but am concerned it's water repellency will not keep me dry. Really wish the hood were a roll up hood. Overall, even with the drawbacks mentioned, I like this jacket - good for travelling and late spring wear in the NE. Cost too high for value however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank You!! Finally, tall sizes! Or at least Bean styles that fit tall gals. I’m a long 5’10,165# and the medium is a perfect fit, plus long enough overall and in the sleeves that I don’t look like I’m wearing a size too small. I have past generations of these jackets - which I love - and am thrilled to add this to the mix. the Red Currant is vibrant and perfect for standing out on the streets during morning or dusky walks, or on the trail when hiking. Fit is just a bit bulky, but with ample room to move, pretty on its own and light enough to wear under a roomy rain parka. Love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised! I received this jacket in Black/X-large as a gift and was skeptical about whether it could keep me warm since it is very lightweight. Wore it on a 23 degree day and surprisingly, the cold did not penetrate at all! It has very deep pockets that eliminate the need for me to carry a purse and I especially love that there's an earbud portal on the inside. Plus, I had room to wear a hoodie underneath and the sleeves were still long enough. I'm also happy with the jacket's length as it covers most of my tush and has pull cords to make the bottom snug enough to keep the elements out. Overall, I love it and would give it 5 stars if the hood had draw strings and a hide away collar.
