Rated 1 out of 5 by LukeLovesIt from Returning Them! If you've owned the previous design of these, you'll understand why I'm upset. The footbed has completely been changed and they are NO LONGER comfortable. The new footbed is a hard, plastic material and it is shaped strangely enough so that the heel of my foot seems to dip down lower than the rest of my foot. Also, the toe-separator digs into my foot. The previous flip-flops were so much more comfortable with a cushiony, foam footbed. I am returning this new pair. I don't understand why LLBean felt the need to change the design (unless it were to save THEM money). Bad call. I do not recommend these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ChiotsRun from Sadly, Not the Same as Old Version I have a few pairs of the older style Maine Isle flip flops and was disappointed with the new redesign. The softer foot bed is not as durable, mine are worn out after two months of wear and had gouges out of them within a few weeks. After two months of wear, the heals have now compressed down to nothing and now my heels hurt when I wear these shoes as there is zero padding in that area. Since I am of normal weight (125lbs), I would think these would last even less time if you carry any extra weight. Hopefully the old style comes back so I can buy more, if not I'm looking for another staple flip flop elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MJ17 from Not Worth the Money Any More I am a huge fan of the Flip Flops. Every year I buy several pairs and wear them until they can't be worn anymore. This year I didn't love the new look of the flips flops, but figured they'd be the same quality and comfort and bought three pairs. I can't believe how horrible they are. They are not as comfortable as the old ones and the soles are already wearing down. The old flip flops I could wear all day and have no problems. These new ones gave me a blister after an hour and hurt my feet. They are no longer worth the money and I hope L.L. Bean brings back the old style.

Rated 3 out of 5 by auntiemickeymouse from Slightly Disappointed After 5+ years of wearing my previous flip flops (I have at least three pairs of the "old" style), I finally had to give in and buy new ones. I am not happy with the new foot bed. While some may find it comfortable, I find it very uncomfortable. Everyone's foot is different and I am disappointed that the new flip flops are not nearly as comfortable as the old ones. (Insert sad face.) While I love the quality of LL Bean, I am disappointed with the change. If it's not broke, don't fix it! Will continue to buy other products but will look elsewhere for my flip flops. Love the colour selection though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AnaP from Very poor quality I have been using maine isle flip flops since the past decade. Last year as I was placing my order I had noticed the design change, but trusting LL Bean's quality products I went ahead with my order of two pairs as usual. However quality of these flip flops is not on par with the LL Bean signature products from the past. Wear on my old pair of Maine isle flip flops was may be 20% after a year of use. But the new pair wore off at a much faster pace after 3 months of usage & now there is hardly any sole left. I would expect this kind of quality from big box stores when you spend less than 5$.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BobbieD from Not as good Old Maine Isles you could wear for a long time, pairs I bought in last year are not as good, were comfortable for much less than time. The problem for me seems to be that the bottom sole is very hard, and perhaps the footbed is not as good either, sole now hard as a rock, can't wear. Also I like the colors I got some years ago, a pretty pink and nice blue flower designs that I could wear with more summer shorts; colors now--reds, blues, browns and designs not near as pretty. Please bring back the old design of the sandal with better sole and footbed and bring back pretty designs!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ginzy from VERY DISAPPOINTED I've been buying the LL Bean flip flops for years. I buy at least one pair for myself and have given them to others as gifts. This year's version is VERY DISAPPOINTING. The straps seem to be the same but the sole is terrible and not very comfortable. The heel feels like it's lower than the toes. The same person who changed this item must have also removed the easy stretch twill pants that are no longer available (only on clearance). I used to live in those pants and flip flops. Please bring back the original version or as someone else suggested, give us a choice of the old and the new.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jxfour from So Disappointed I just received newest version of Maine Isle Flips Flops. I have worn these flip flops exclusively for over 15 years and probably have a dozen pairs. I will tell you that I am returning these!!!! They are awful. They have a very plastic feel, make a slapping noise when you walk and are way too soft and cushy. I know you're thinking "there's no such thing as too cushy" but from someone who loves comfort (i.e. soft) these have gone overboard. I am so disappointed and admit that my long term love affair with Maine Isle Flip Flops has come to an end.
