Rated 3 out of 5 by BWeaves from Bring back the A-line long raincoat This is the ONLY LONG raincoat out there. In Florida, when it rains, it pours. A raincoat that hits mid thigh is useless. While I love all the features of this coat, it is too slim and sweaty for Florida. It doesn't breathe. And the pleat is too low to be helpful around the hips. My previous LLBean long rain coat had the perfect shape. It was A-line with a big pleat down the back and a back cape so the mesh lining was vented. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the A-line LONG raincoat. And make it in bright pretty colors, too. A shoulder cape that covered my purse would also be nice. I'm not hiking in this coat. I'm going to work or shopping.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pammmimi from Good, but very long I originally ordered the 3/4 length coat in camel (they were out of black) and I liked it except for the color...everything I own is black. So I sent it back but alas was told that length/style was discontinued. So I ordered the coat in black...very nice, but of course at 5'4", I had to have about 12" removed from the bottom. The other jacket you have is too short...does not cover your bum. So like Goldilocks, one was the wrong color, one too short and one too long...but thanks to a tailor the long one is now a little shorter! I look forward to taking the coat to Ireland next month where I can realllly test out its water resistant factor:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by CrusherLarue from Staying dry I recently moved to the Oregon coast. The rain can be intense at times, especially during the winter. With the high winds, it rains sideways. I searched for a long lightweight raincoat that would provide more coverage and found one with high reviews at LL Bean. With my rainboots, I am entirely covered. I gave my new coat a trial run during a recent wind and rain storm. I walked along the coastline and the wind blew the waves on to the pathway. I was pelted with water. And, I stayed dry. The hood has a good design, cinching at the neck and staying in place, keeping my head dry. I am very pleased with my new coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnnaBanana14 from Keeps me dry While this long rain coat does not make a fashion statement, it serves my purpose in purchasing it, which is to wear it when I walk my lady English Labrador in the rain. With its hood and its length, I am pretty much covered head to toe as she trots along oblivious to the weather and I am kept comfortably dry. That H2Off material really works. The water beads up on it, but one does not feel as if the coat does not breathe. One must layer under it in cooler weather, but it is quite roomy enough to feel comfortable doing that. At 5'3", I had to switch to a petite, but that worked out well for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Monica from Very happy About a year ago, I moved to Southeast Alaska and bought this jacket in anticipation. There are two seasons here: Rain and Snow. So it has been put to plenty of use and I haven't gotten wet. I like the length extends past my waist because it keeps my pants (and phone) dry. It also has enough room underneath to wear a couple of layers, but it isn't baggy. This wouldn't make a good jacket for any kind of intense hiking because the added length might get in the way, but it's perfect for an easy hike or walking the dog. Only real downside is that when you put the hood up, it completely cuts off your peripheral vision, but that's a pretty minor issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cctearoom from PERFECT! I love this raincoat. I am 5 foot 10 inches with long legs and arms. I bought the navy blue in size 18. It is roomy enough to wear a sweater underneath as well as being long enough in arm length and overall length. The color is a pretty blue not a black/blue. I find no problem with the hood, in fact you can turn it back to frame your face if weather permits, but can also be worn to more than cover your head and protect your face. This was a bit expensive but the last time I bought a raincoat was about 20 years ago! This raincoat will certainly last that long!. (I hope that it doesn't outlive me though!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by LifetimeExplorer from Great for city and country This raincoat was wonderful to have on a couple of trips. It's lightweight and very packable in addition to providing excellent rain protection. I can fold it to carry in my lightweight day pack and quickly put it on in case of rain. It dries quickly so when the rain ends, it will easily fold up and go back into my pack. It's also perfect for both city and countryside touring as a darker color is more inconspicuous and doesn't shout "American tourist." I wouldn't hesitate to wear it for business meetings either. I'm looking forward to taking it on more off-season trips when rain is more likely. The fit is a bit slimmer in the torso than I'd prefer for layering purposes so I give it 4 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by realVermonter from THIS IS QUITE A RAINCOAT! I have to say that if you walk to work, or are a crossing guard, or walk your dog in all weather then this is the raincoat for you. I wore it once and felt like I was ready for Niagra Falls. It covers everything. Having said all this I am returning it. My needs are not this drastic; if it's raining cats and dogs then I just don't go outside! But if you need rain protection in every situation then this is the coat for you. It's breathable, not "crinkly" and quite comfortable considering it's a suit of armor against the rain.
