Rated 5 out of 5 by Messy from Dog Walker Review - Great coat Great coat for dog walking on colder days. I have the Maine Mountain parka for coldest days. This coat is a great option for 20 to 40 degrees. It is really light; the Maine Mountain parka weighs a ton. It is warm and has a nice shape - again the Maine Mt parka does not. Because it is shaped, you can wear it for frumpy dog walks or when you go out and about. Again, the Maine Mt. parka is large and frumpy and not as stylish. That said, when it is freezing, that Maine Mt. parka is THE BEST. I run cold and I am never cold in the Maine Mt. parka, even when we hit below zero this year. The Maine Mt. Parka, however, is too warm on walks above 25 degrees. This coat is a great option for 20 to 40 degree walks.

Rated 2 out of 5 by threepups from Not warm enough I bought this coat for a trip to the midwest and was disappointed. With layering, I could stay warm in the 20-degree weather. At lower temperatures, I had to add more layers than were comfortable. If I'd known about needing the extra layers, I would have sized up to accommodate them. And, if I'd known how many additional layers I would need with this coat, I would have bought something else. Another complaint. The pocket zippers jammed. I know this coat is new for this year. Perhaps some revisions for next year will improve it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KiminMI from Nice, but? This caught my eye because it's a different shape than most coats and I thought it might be more figure flattering because of the gathering at the back but honestly I think it makes me look larger. The coat is nice, it's warm, the sleeves are long enough and the quality is really nice. I ordered another style and will compare. There isn't anything wrong with the coat but I'm not excited with the silhouette at least from a side view, I don't find it flattering. That being said, it's a nice coat and obviously being warm should be the most important thing

Rated 5 out of 5 by ghillie from Definitely Warm!! I bought this coat as a Christmas gift for my wife. Previously, she owned a North Face coat similar in length and design that was "shedding" down pieces after several years of wear. She was ready for a new one. Rather than get her another North Face coat, I decided to go with L.L. Bean. It turns out I made a good choice. She loves her new coat! The past few days have been sub-zero in our area. Today, I asked her how the coat was doing in the bitter cold weather. She didn't hesitate. She said "Great! It's definitely warm, that's for sure!" All that being said, the coat looks fantastic on her, too. She's 5'6", about 118 pounds, and a has a fairly slight frame. I bought her a small and it fits perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wnt2LkGd from Warm, Cozy, Longlasting-Style too Bland I Purchased this coat to replace an old brown down coat, L.L. Bean, from about 12 years ago. The coat fit well, I am 5‘5“ and 135 pounds, I ordered a medium which I could fit a nice sweater underneath. It’s very warm and cozy and would make a great coat— if it only had a little bit of style. I got the black color and it was a very bland finish. Also I feel that the design element of cinching the waist was not successful in this coat, in other words it looks like a big sack when it’s on you. Had to send it back and I am now wearing a packable Calvin Klein, not nearly as warm!

Rated 3 out of 5 by SophiesDogMom from just not for me, I guess So much about this coat I liked but it was, IMO, cut really small/narrow. In theory, the size I ordered should have fit me - and is the size I order for everything (M). This was snug in my shoulders, one of my smallest spots, and barely zippered through my thigh/hip area. I'm not going up a size because I think it's ridiculous that an expensive coat isn't cut well enough to fit as it should. Maybe for others, this hasn't been the case, but I was really disappointed in the cut and fit. Too bad, because the teal color is beautiful and it has really nice features for winter in New York. It went back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Picabofan from Very warm - hate the hood I was apprehensive about buying this coat because it said it was so light; I wasn’t sure it would be warm enough. It is very warm! I wear a couple layers underneath (turtleneck, sweatshirt), but this time of year that’s what I usually wear in winter. Unfortunately, the hood is way too small. With it pulled up, it does nothing to shield your face from the elements; it just covers your head. Also, the zipper gets stuck every time I zip it to the top to cover my neck. If you’re concerned about keeping the wind and snow off your face, try another coat. I would not buy this one again. I should have reordered my old ¾ length ultrawarm coat, which had an awesome hood!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mstrdseed8 from Perfect Pick! I love LLBean coats because their zippers last. My previous LLBean coats were heavy but very warm. I decided to try a coat that wasn't so heavy, hoping it would be just as warm. It's been a very cold January. I'm toasty warm with my new coat, and it's super lightweight:) The zipper is on the left side. I'm a lefty but it's still difficult to get started. I'll get used to it. Making snow angels with the grandsons, I stay warm and dry. Well-worth the cost and looks and feels great! The coat's teal color gets lots of compliments:)
