Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST RAIN JACKET Had previously purchased a trail model rain jacket for coaching outdoors. Wanted something lightweight and comfortable for summer rain showers, and while it would work for the first few minutes, the water would seep in during prolonged or serious rain storms. Went into LL Bean and this jacket was recommended to me by an employee, who said “this is the one all of the people who work here have”. I figured for the price difference, I would trust his recommendation. I have now worn it two days in a row in insane downpours and stayed perfectly dry, and surprisingly not sweaty! Best investment I have made!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality My husband and I gave this jacket to our son in law to wear when he watches his daughter play collegiate golf (they play in rain and even sleet) in the Midwest and Northern states in the fall and spring. He is 6’3 and 230lbs and the 2x tall fit him perfectly. He also has room to layer with a light sweatshirt if needed. He especially likes the vented arm pits and the Velcro at the cuffs. He said the quality to detail in this jacket was excellent. The first day he wore it ...it rained and he said he was perfectly dry after 4hrs. This jacket is not cheap however it has been our experience that when buying rain gear you get what you pay for and this jacket is worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tek storm jacket Compared to ten years ago,the sizes on this jacket has shrunk considerably.I wear a mens large tall-my chest size is a 42L.with this jacket I had to send it back twice-first for an xl-tall,which was still too small, then finally for an xxl-tall-which fits fine-but I am only 6ft-175lbs.I do not understand why i had to go all the way to their largest size to get a loose fit that was capable of fitting over my other winter clothing.the jacket is very well made and looks remarkable on me.No complaints with how it is made or looks.-Very sharp.Be aware that this jacket is small compared to my other mens clothing from l.l.bean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Until It Wasn’t I’ve owned the TEK rain jacket for a few years. It’s an affordable, waterproof jacket that fits and looks great. So why three stars? For the same reason another reviewer mentioned: all of the pockets eventually separated from the inside of the jacket because they are glued, not stitched. Eventually the glue gives way and the pockets develop holes. I nearly lost my keys and wallet due to this unfortunate detail. And it happened on all of the pockets and an interior flap. I have repaired the holes with fabric glue but I do not trust this jacket anymore. Simple wear and tear? Nonsense. Bean, there has to be a better way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the money I originally bought an Outdoor Research Realm jacket, but it had no side pockets and was cut extremely form fitting. (I'm 6'-0" 205lbs and couldn't zip up an XL) I ended up returning it and trying the L.L.Bean TEK 02 3L Storm Jacket instead . . . WOW, what an improvement! Not only did the XL size fit me perfectly, the material and build quality struck me as much better than the more expensive Outdoor Research jacket. Yesterday I got caught in my first downpour with this jacket, and it performed perfectly. When I got home I was able to simply shake the water off and it was dry, can't beat that! The TEK 02 3L Storm Jacket has value, performance, comfort, warranty, and good looks going for it. Highly recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Giving it a try - hope it gets better... I just received this jacket. I liked its description - waterproof and breathable. I ordered a Men's Tall in order to get Longer Length. When I opened the package, the fabric was STIFF LIKE CARDBOARD. I washed it twice, and it's a little softer, but not really flexible. But the main problem is the zipper. The zipper is VERY hard to use- takes great effort to move the zipper up and down. I've been just moving it up and down, hoping for improvement, but not yet... Through many years of using wonderful LLBean rainwear - for me and for husband and brother - I'll give it a try and let you know. Past experience suggests that in time the fabric gets more flexible.. I really hope this one does - I like its style and specs...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really comfortable rain jacket This jacket does everything they say it does. It is waterproof, windproof and it breathes. I'm very impressed with the new technology incorporated in the design of this jacket. The coat fits well not too tight or too loose and you can layer under it. I walk every day no matter the weather and I've never had good rain gear as it was to hot and uncomfortable. This jacket is excellent and the pockets are large and the contents stay dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too tight High quality construction. Repeals rain. Note it is a rain jacket and not lined so you'll need to layer if it's cold. However, it is skimpy on size. I ordered an Extra-large, the size for all my shirts, jackets, fleeces, etc. It fits snugly, actually too snugly for an X-L. I can't go up a size because the sleeves are an X-L length, that is, almost cover my hand; an XX-L would have sleeves much too long for me. But for the under-sizing it would be a five star.
