Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Faulty handle ruins all - DO NOT PURCHASE I purchased this bag specifically for a long weekend work / wedding trip for which I needed to pack 3 suits, a few shirts and little else (<25 lbs total, bag included). I pulled the bag off the baggage carousel and the extended handle ripped off the very first time I went to use it. This was last weekend in NYC / Cleveland where the weather was hot and humid; given the bag is too short to wheel without handle but too tall to carry comfortably, carrying this anchor around with me nearly ruined my weekend. I love LL Bean, so I'm certainly coming back, but there is a serious manufacturing issue with this bag. DO NOT PURCHASE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MCHSR from Handle design faulty I have had this bag style for 15 years. The first one I had was great but when the zipper came off, I called and they said send it back. As usual, LL Bean replaces anything problematic and that's why I always keep shopping here, besides the great products! The replacement had a different handle that was plastic and consequently, it sheared off after retrieving it from the carousel. This has happened three more times and is a serious design problem. They need to redesign the handle to be rugged and withstand the handling of the airlines. Please redesign and let some folks field test it! Thank you!

Rated 3 out of 5 by baronbvp from Nice but kinda small A quality bag that goes with the rest of the set, but it is too short for sport coats/suits on hangers - even the included small ones. The bottom 4-5 inches of the coats must be folded up over themselves. This is not the bag for transporting a week's worth of nice clothes or a few suits. Ideally suited to two or three shirts, two pants, and a sport coat plus accessories in other pockets. Too big to carry on, too small to keep my clothes nice and unwrinkled or uncreased. Has a place for a pair shoes, but they will wrinkle your clothes. Too small in which to pack a dress military uniform. Also kind of difficult to maneuver around due to the wide wheelbase. But I do use it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Duckhunter1 from Handle Design... Like the many other reviews regarding the failure of the handle, I too have just experienced the breakage. In my case, the bag was only used sporadically since first purchased (2 years ago), but I have recently started traveling every weekend. The plastic piece that forms the top of the handle is the weak link. But called customer service and got OUTSTANDING service as usual. Do not stop buying from LL Bean, just don't buy this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Liam42 from Superb... We needed a sturdy garment bag for a wedding of our daughter. We were traveling with: two Mother-of-the-Bride dresses, one Sports Jacket and one Men's Suit. All these items and more fit nicely in the bag. They came out unwrinkled and as best as could be expected under any conditions. We liked having to fold them only once (the bag folds on itself), instead of many folds if we used regular luggage. We were able to pack other items as well and were still at 32 pounds fully packed. There are two small shoe compartments built in that fit Women's dress heels nicely. The wide wheels made it easy to pull behind. Oh, one final note, this is not a carry on. It's too large. That's not a problem, it's a feature.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Stanleyw from Sportrtsman's Rolling Garment Bag I need a new garment bag, and I very much want to get the Sportsman"s Rolling Garment Bag to match other pieces of Sportsman's luggage That I have and like. But I will NOT buy it until something is done about the faulty handle that has been cited in review after review over a period of years! It is uncharacteristic of L.L. Bean to ignore these complaints and keep selling a defective product even though management must by now know that the product is, in fact, defective.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Quebby50 from Rolling Garmet Bag The bag is great, but the handle is extremely unacceptable. I have had the bag for four months and the handle broke on a flight back. The bag came out on the luggage carousel and I retrieved it and tried to extend the handle. The plastic handle came off in my hands and I was unable to extend it, so now I had to carry it. I read the reviews before I purchased it and most said the same thing, the bag is great, but the handle is junk. Well LL Bean stepped up and replaced it, so I will give it one more try.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SandDog from Average garment bag I have had this bag for about 4 years. Although a bit small, it can carry 2 suits, a trench coat, some shirts, socks, etc. This amount of stuff makes the bag a bit crammed, and things do get wrinkled. If you pack less (1 suit or a blazer and some shirts), things look better. Internal pockets are good. The frame is solid, and the material is easy to clean/ maintain. A couple of problems. The outside pocket zipper pull broke. After about 15 trips, the fabric covering the lower frame is wearing down (probably from chafing). I have also had problems with the handle (sticking in the up or down position). I took the handle mechanism apart, sprayed the inside parts with WD40, and it seems to be working. Not bad overall.
