Rated 5 out of 5 by Srp0 from Perfect for what they're designed for These boots are absolutely amazing. They're soft, cozy, and extremely comfortable to walk in. The title of the item says it all. They are a Signature Country Walker. The "Signature" section of LL Bean is meant for fashion and looks. Not extreme outdoors. These are also called "Country Walkers". Meant for casual country walks or walking around the city or town. The review above is completely unfair stating that these didn't stand up to "extreme weather". They're not extreme outdoors boots. They're comfort casual walking boots and they are absolutely amazing and perfect at being those. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a beautiful, stylish pair of winter boots. They will keep you warm, comfortable, and looking good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AdirondackLaker from Love 'em right out of the box! I liked the look and quality of these shoes at the store. They were out of stock in my size so I ordered them from the catalogue. They arrived today and I decided to try them on for size. Now I don't want to take them off! The inside is super plush and warm, reminiscent of my Wicked Good slippers, and they are very supportive and comfortable. I look forward to breaking them in - which will probably only take a couple of days at this rate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PrincetonLivin from Good, but not a winter boot Let me start off by saying this is a good boot, but by no means is it a winter boot. My mistake was buying these to replace my bean boots in hopes that they would be warmer, and have better traction. I have given these boots some time, and have tested them in extreme winter conditions and they have not passed. I will say that the shearing line is extremely comfortable, and the design of the boot is great. That being said, the shearing line does not really do anything for warmth, and the leather is very thin so your feet get cold rather quickly, even when you do wear thick wool socks. The leather may be "waterproof", but when walking in snow it soaks into the leather, and only makes your feet colder the longer you are outside. My feet never got wet when wearing them, but you could definitely feel the coldness of the boot on your feet. The main reason I bought these were because I thought they would have better traction. I was very wrong there, I slipped three times on my way to class in one day. One of those times being in the middle of the road into slush, so I would definitely not recommend these if you have a walking commute in the winter. The last critique I have is the lacing system. I don't know if its because of how the lace holes are designed, but it is a pain to lace these boots up because the laces get all scrunched together, and you have to tighten each section of the lace before you can tie the boot up. Now, all that being said, these boots would be great for casual wear, but I would absolutely not recommend them as your daily winter boot because they will not keep your feet warm, or keep you on your feet for that matter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GauchoheartBearblood from Runs small I ordered these as a gift for my husband. They are a good looking, high quality boot. The inside is fully lined with thick sherpa. My husband wears a size 10.5 and he could barely get his foot in this boot. Since there are no LL Bean stores in CA I sent them back and did not re-order a bigger size because it would be too hard to determine how much larger of a shoe he would need. I am unable to comment on how/if this boot is waterproof as it was never worn.

Rated 4 out of 5 by backriver from Good casual boot Got these as casual boots for colder temps, not for treking in a foot of snow. So far, comfortable and warm (some concern might be too warm if wearing inside for too long - we'll see). Also swapped out the laces with some rawhide ones I had lying around, dresses it up a little bit. Good boot for the price.
