Rated 5 out of 5 by Tradewind from Love it This fits perfectly, not too bulky or snug, plenty long in the arms. I have the Large Reg, 6' 175 lbs slender build with 34" arms. I have the Moss green color which I find very pleasing. Looking closely at the sweater you'll see small specks of red and blue yarns, which add to the flair and texture. Since this is 100 % Shetland wool,I find that it is somewhat scratchy on my bare neck, but that obviously could be remedied by wearing a collared shirt underneath. The only quibble is like some other reviewers have noted, that the elbow patches could be lowered a bit. All in all it's quite warm and lightweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by amp5 from A Classic This is a classic woolly sweater. Perfect for: 1) Staying toasty and warm under a coat on the coldest of days 2) College professors 3) The wool-obsessed 4) A gift for someone who is moving to a cold climate 5) Anyone looking to camouflage themselves among New Englanders Not for you if: 1) You can't stand the scratchiness that comes with wool 2) You live somewhere it never drops below 40 Be sure to remember to size it as though you will be wearing a solid layer under it. Loved it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Somanychoices from Not what I'd hoped for I'm sure this sweater would have been fine in terms of warmth, but for styling, fit, and color I have to say I was disappointed. To be fair, I'd forgotten how rough and scratchy Shetland wool can be; didn't care for that at all. I have a similarly styled quarter-zip in cotton that I really like, but this was not in the same league. Also don't understand why there can't be more elasticity in the band at the waist--why have that ribbed area if it's not designed to hold a bit tighter?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Woooooolllllly from Great "Wool" Sweater I ride a motorcycle (Harley Ultra, Fireman Special)to work and around all year. As a matter of fact I rode in this morining at 27 degrees. I use the sweater as a liner due to its wool quality and the turtle neck. This is one of the thickest sweaters I have owned and is so soft and warm I have to fight the wife for it sometimes. Cotton will not keep you warm as wool does, I found this out while in the Army during the mountain training. But it fits great under my leather coat while allowing breathing room for my base coat. I was pretty warm this morning and I give it to this fine quality sweater. The price is great and finding a wool sweater is hard enough. Thanks L.L. Bean

Rated 5 out of 5 by WellsJetty from Thick and warm A very attractive, well-made, thick, warm, wool sweater. Mine has no elbow patches. It's not itchy at all. Collar is double layered (black on this inside) yet is still very pliable and not stiff in the least. Seams are sturdy. Metal zipper lies smoothly and has a layer of wool under it, adding to the look of quality. Great attention to detail. Top notch construction overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Eriger from Happy customer I am very happy with the three Shetland sweaters that I purchased recently. They are better than I expected. I have been an LL Bean customer for decades and have never had anything but the best experience with the company and its products. In fact, I have a Tartan plaid shirt I bought in 1988 which I still wear and it has no fraying on the cuffs or the collar...Amazing! I love the products and the integrity of the company.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SwampYankeeReview from Unpredictable quality These sweaters look great and sell at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I've had bad luck with them. First one I purchased got a hole between elbow patch and sleeve within a month. Purchased another one the following year, but the construction of the collar was messed-up. Returned both, of course. And will pass on these in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sanjuan787 from Low quality for LL bean I recently purchased this item and was very disappointed. The material was very course and uncomfortable-- very itchy . Moreover, It arrived to my home stretched out at the lower quarter of the sweater-. Hence, when i put it on, the garment , it seemed stretched. The item seemed to run very big as well This item should be removed from the inventory-- not the usual LL bean quality.
