Rated 5 out of 5 by CampingSteve from Very warm technical hoodie I like this hoodie a lot. It has a very sporty fitted look and fits true to size. I wear a small and this is spot on with still room to layer underneath. This is a very warm hoodie and could easily work as a midlayer. The Primaloft gold stuff is almost as good as down. It made up of a light or mid-weight fleece which is then backed up by extra Primaloft insulation in the chest, back, and hood. Due note that the arms and sides do not have extra Primaloft insulation. At first I thought it was silly not to fully insulate this piece, but now I understand it needs the arms and sides to help vent off heat when active. Also this is not wind resistance at all, if you need to stop wind chill you will need a windbreaker over it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rooner84 from Poor stitching First of all, I'm still waiting on my replacement item so my opinion may change, BUT, until then...I wore this hoodie once and the stitching started to come loose on the inside of both cuffs. An hour after noticing that it was coming loose, there was an almost inch long string hanging down into my hand. The only other 'issue' I've noticed is with the design of this hoodie; the stitching that runs down each arm is very strong but rather stiff. You can feel it when wearing a t shirt underneath and I find it kind of itchy. Other than those two issues, I love this hoodie.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rooner84 from Update on "Poor Stitching" Have to hand it to the customer service department. They express shipped me a replacement hoodie and I received it 29 hours later, a day earlier than expected. New hoodie seems to be great thus far. I meticulously inspected the cuffs for loose stitching and found none. Also, an update on a style feature I've noticed I love; there is a sort of tail on the lower back of the hoodie which keeps your lower back covered at all times. Very intelligent design. Hope the replacement holds true to LLBean quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by rjf47 from Not That Warm From the product description I thought that this would be suitable for winter use. It was a bit pricey at $129, but it had the "mapped zoning for warmth" and the "top-notch PrimaLoft insulation" so how could i go wrong? Not quite certain just where they mapped in the PrimaLoft, but If you get this hoodie, you'll need to wear a sweater underneath if the temp gets into the 30s and especially if it's at all breezy out; the wind blows right through this thing. In fairness, it would be just fine for Spring or Fall wear, but certainly not Winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BeanBeangood4urheart from Nice Jacket! Good looks, great fit. Feels substantial when wearing it, however the hood is rather big and flops down onto my eyes or maybe I need a bigger head! Really like this jacket, as for the hood I just roll it up a turn when I need it to get it off my eyes. Also, the seam on the inside of the forearms pills from have it swing across the sides of the body when walking. Looks great, feels great, just a couple of minor adjustments would give it an excellent rating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jodoug from Great hoodie! This was a gift for my husband. I got him the gray color with the 'cayenne' interior which really spices up the look. He liked the horizontal stitching - makes it look sharp. It's the perfect weight for layering which is his preferred method for staying warm. It was important to have a hood that stays on his head (he's bald) and this one has the right amount of structure for that. For him it was critical to have zippered hand pockets - which it has. It also has two deep inside pockets, but he would have preferred an inside zip pocket as well. It's a bit longer in the back to cover the hips. All in all a very good-looking hoodie that is warm and has lots of function. I can see him using it daily for years to come!

Rated 3 out of 5 by SkiiingMonkey from Great hoodie, great fit, poor stitching Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves it. Super warm and comfortable and the fit is great. Works best as a base layer on really cold days or on its own on milder days. He put it in the wash once and the stitching on th underside of his arm began to fray and clump on both sides. He's very delicate with his outerwear and washes most "technical" items on their own. Unfortunately this one is not holding up. Going to trade it in once and see if it's good, otherwise will have to get something else unfortunately

Rated 5 out of 5 by BossHorn from Comfort and Warmth Beyond Expectations I have been wearing this item almost every day since I purchased it and find it to be the best hoodie I have ever owned. That is a bold statement for me to make due to the fact that I have a decent hoodie collection, but a true statement none the less. The permaloft layer in the body area of the hoodie is excellent at maintaining my core temperature. While the fabric in the arms and sides allow for some breathability to keep you from sweating or overheating. Temperature regulation is awesome in this mid layer. The fabric of the garment itself is light and soft. Stretching and conforming with movement effortlessly, it lends itself to be a great hoodie for casually lounging around the house. Yet, in contrast, it is sleek looking enough that I often wear it to work (which is business casual). Bringing the comfort of a weekend to a busy weekday... no small feat. To sum it all up. If you are looking for a comfortable hoodie that provides ample warmth, BUY THIS HOODIE. It is the last hoodie you will ever need.
