Rated 1 out of 5 by NoNameHere55667 from Buyer Beware I bought a pair of these boots on the 25% off sale and the price was great but the boots themselves were a great disappointment. Unless you like the feel of your fore foot in a vice (top and sides), do not buy without trying these on. I saw reviews (after I bought these) that indicated others had the same problem but they seem to have been taken down from the site. I have a narrow foot and the medium width is what I buy but I was uncomfortable in these boots even without socks. Sadly, the sale has gone and I have lost the discount so any replacement will need to be at full price. Boots will be returned and I guess I'll be looking elsewhere for my hiking boots!

Rated 4 out of 5 by OV1AV8R from Close but no cigar I sought to replace a pair of similar boots made in Italy and no longer offered (looks similar but with Gortex lining and Vibram soles), which were worn and had sole separation issues from wear. These new boots are the closest I could find but with different soles and a new waterproof lining. I first ordered the same size as my old boots 12W, but they were too narrow and a little short. So I reordered 13W and they fit the same as my previous boots. So be careful with size selection. Whether they are as waterproof and as breathable as my last pair is yet to be learned. So far, they are comfortable and look great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CNDoug2 from Super comfortable boot I wear hiking boots everyday all day in my job as a farm & construction equipment sales rep. I'm crawling over equipment and am outside most of the day. I've worn Merrell and Keen boots in the past. This is my first pair of Bean branded hiking boots. The shank seems to be firmer and gives more support than other brands and they are super light. I don't want to take them off the first thing after walking in the door. These boots are COMFORTABLE!! I do use my own Protralus inserts which fit perfectly. Outa the box comfortable - no break in necessary. I'll buy another pair for sure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by leahchaia from Not Great for the Summer These shoes look great and really protect your feet from the snow and rain. Yet, I have two problems with this shoe. First, when I ordered a 1/2 size up (a general rule of thumb with hiking boots) my heel kept slipping. So I returned them and ordered a 10, my true size but now my toes are getting pinched and don't have any wiggle room. My main issue with these boots is the lack of ventilation. My feet are sweating and overheating in 60 degree weather. LLBean claims these shoes are breathable but my feet are suffering in the heat. Planning on trading up to the Vasque Breeze 3.0 GTX.

Rated 5 out of 5 by decoyseye from Excellent Purchased these boots the beginning of October before a hunting trip to Nebraska for prairie grouse as a camp boot. They broke in quickly and easily. Ended up putting them on for the second hunt of the first day and they worked great. Ended up wearing them for over 60 miles of hunting through wet grass in the mornings to hot afternoons. Back home in Wisconsin I decided to wear them on a couple days of ruffed grouse hunting. Over 5 miles one day in light rain and the next day with 3 inches of wet melting snow walked 7 miles. Feet stayed dry and warm. Boots are sure footed from sand to slippery snow covered hills. Fit extremely well and provide good ankle support. Very comfortable to wear and walk well. Light weight makes long days of hiking without trails much easier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jimoe from Almost perfect I would rate the boots at 4.8 stars, but the star options are not that fine-grained. The boots are size 11, wide-width. They fit quite well, are lightweight, provide excellent traction, and easy to wear for hours. I have not given a 5-star rating because the boots stink. It has been two weeks of use and the odor has not abated noticeably. I keep the boots outside so the room does not reek of the boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mike from absolutely worth the money I live in boots. I wear them to work, hiking, out in the yard, riding the quad, etc. I have always had trouble finding boots that last. I've paid upwards of $200 for boots that fell apart in 3 months. After seeing how long their backpacks last, I decided to give these boots a try. I'm on pair number 3 now and the other 2 pairs lasted just about a year of constant, everyday abuse. I'm extremely hard on my boots and these were absolutely up for the challenge. Lightweight, waterproof, and tough. I work outside in the ct winters, and they were warm and dry. Very impressed with the quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JoeIncogno from Early Review I've had these shoes now for several weeks and I like them very much. Very comfortable for standing and walking all day. I work outdoors and do a lot of walking on hard, soft, uneven, rocky, sandy and frequently wet surfaces and so far I really like these shoes. I generally don't leave reviews this early into ownership but these shoes seem very sturdy and well made. Hopefully they last as long as they look like they will.
