Men's Rugged Ridge Waterproof Hiking Boots, Mid is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AZ Hike Just got back from a four day backpacking trip in Mazatzal Mountains in AZ. 6 to 8 miles each day over very rocky terrain. I have hiked AZ for 30 years with Vasque boots, this is the first with Beaners. I was very pleasantly surprised. I blow out my Vasque on this hike a year ago. Sole showed almost no wear and gripped the rocks (both wet and dry) great. Toe box was roomy and had no blisters during the trip. Outer showed no wear and was like new. Collar rubbed my leg a bit, but not unusual for new boots. I was not sure what to expect, but exceeded my expectations. I hope to use these boots on many more hike and by this performance should last a lot longer than what I got out of my Vasque boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made These boots are comfortable right out of the box. I put them on and took my dogs for a 2 mile walk. I have a wide foot and the fit was perfectly comfortable. No crowding of the toes. Ankle support is great. Lacing system seems designed to keep the heel secured so my foot is not sliding forward in the boot. Vibram sole is a plus. A few days later I tried them on a motorcycle ride. They worked great. I have used various LL Bean lightweight hiking boots going back to 1975 for day hikes, back packing in Baxter Park and over the Presidentials in NH, horse back riding, motorcycling, and they never disappoint. I have also kept a separate pair to use while working in a hospital where I was on my feet most of the time. The extra support provided by these boots keeps my old feet feeling young!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged Ridge Boots I received these boots after turning in the Knife Edge Wp boots which I found ill fitting for a size 12. I wore these Rugged Ridge boots around the house for a day then wore them out running errands for a couple of days. Today I decided to wear them while Archery hunting for Elk in North Idaho. I had a loaded backpack and traversed hilly terrain with varying soil conditions - up, down, and side hilling. These boots performed perfectly. The grip on the Vibram sole is amazing. The tread pattern works very well! These hiking boots have a sole and foot bed thin enough that you can feel the contours of the land beneath which is in contrast to a lot of thick boot soles you find out there including the Knife Edge WP. I wear a size 12 in LL Beans slip on shoes, the Knife Edge and these as well, so the sizing through their line of footwear seems linear. For sizing at first they seemed a bit small however this was somewhat of an illusion. The heel fits back into the boot a tad farther than other boots I own however, when laced up it all worked out well. I found these boots to be very comfortable while hiking in the difficult, hilly, and rocky woodland terrain mentioned above and with basically no break in period. They are very light in weight and so far have held up to the moderate abuse they encountered today. LL Bean, you hit a home run with these boots! Hope you all read your 5 star reviews. A+++++

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built boot but Wide is too narrow for me These boots are super well-constructed and the Vibram soles look really grippy. Bean was my go-to place for hiking boots until they changed their Wide last from 4E to 2E. So these boots were too narrow and I reluctantly had to send them back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comfortable but bad craftsmanship Boots were comfortable on the first day. I wear them most days but only for walking through the neighborhood. Over all, the boots show little wear. The design seems to be good but the craftsmanship is very poor. After three months the toe loops for the bootlaces tore out. Two months later the seams at the top of the toe caps are splitting. I have always been pleased with the quality of LL Bean products but this time I was very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit This model boot replaced the Trail Mod 4 which were unsat because the boots in then box were of two sizes, twice. This boot is excellent in that the left and right boot are the same size. I've not done any serious hiking but have taken them when walking the dog out in the weeds. I'd buy them again, in the first place.
