Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pair of Jeans I really love these jeans. I tried a pair of 1912 stretch jeans a few months ago but they were way too slim – seemingly not standard fit as advertised. I have a trim, athletic build (run and cycle) and I cannot wear slim fitting pants. These jeans allow a little more room in the seat and thigh but are wonderfully flexible. These jeans are plenty long. I say this as some of LLBean’s pants fit like high water pants on me. I will say they are a little on the warm side (though I have been wearing these on cool summer nights), but all around a great jean. I am looking forward to using these for traveling (airplane travel) and urban trekking. Impressed with how versatile and comfortable they are.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as expected I have four pair of 1912 Standard fit jeans that fit perfectly. Three are the stretch fabric, which I like much better than regular. They tend to hold their shape. That said, the Standard Fit BeanFlex Jeans seem to be a different animal altogether. They fit in the waist but are considerably roomier in the mid thigh. I am not sure what the term "Flex" refers to that is not in the 1912 stretch. A bit lighter in fabric weight? Yes - maybe. Overall the jeans felt flimsy and somehow "off-sized". I returned them to a store in my area and shared my thoughts with the person in the men's department. He agreed the sizing was not the same as the 1912.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as the 1912 Performance Stretch Jeans I loved the “1912 Performance Stretch Jeans, Standard Fit” and purchased many pairs. These are not as well made, and are much larger than the size would indicate. I wear 32” in Lee or Levi jeans and 31” in the 1912 Performance Stretch Jeans. The 31” BeanFlex Jeans are at least an inch larger in the waist than the 31” 1912 jeans, the legs are oddly wide through the thigh, and the rise is slightly lower than the 1912. I can’t see whether the 30” BeanFlex jeans fit the same as the 31” 1912 jeans because these are not available in 30x29 dark wash. If you are relatively slender and want a stretch jean for office wear, these may be good. Just be aware of the sizing issues. Buy an inch or two smaller than you would normally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At last! Reaaally hoping my hunt for the perfect jean has come to an end, and I’m thinking I may have found it with this pant. Just got in the mail and right off the bat the fit and feel is everything I had hoped for. I have yet to wash and dry, but I’m thinking the shrinkage will be minimal considering the materials. Also, I’m crossing my fingers that LL Bean keeps an eye on the quality control across the board for all the different sizes and colors, as I’ve run into some jean companies where the sizing is off in a different color! As it stands now, I’ll see how they come out of the dryer, and if all goes well, I’ll be ordering many more pairs as this already feels like the only pair of jeans I will want to wear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fits larger than the '1912 Stretch' My LL Bean 1912 Stretch Jeans are among my favorite jeans. Those fit noticeably slimmer, and these are noticeably a more relaxed fit; even after washing. That's fine if you want that.... *** Details: I ordered 32/29, and although my 1912 Stretch Jeans are a 33/29, these are about an inch greater circumference through the leg. The stretchiness and fabric in general didn't seem that much different to me (casual wear) either. *** 3/5 Stars because the fabric is great, the stretchiness is great, the color is fine, I just prefer the fit of the '1912 Stretch Jeans' (slimmer).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First Flex Jeans I have been hesitant to buy & wear flex/stretch jeans because of the torn/worn look of many of the jeans I have seen and worry about the waist being too low. These LLBean jeans were perfect for me and I love them. I bought the 'faded' ones because the 'stretch marks' on them were not as apparent as on the darker choice. The jeans fit me perfectly and I do love the comfort that flex jeans provide. They are also cooler that all cotton/501's, etc., which make them easier to wear on warmer days. I would recommend these jeans. I would buy the darker ones if they did not have the wear/stretch marks...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jeans Finally, a pair of jeans that are easy to move around in. I am usually a 38 waist but with the little bit of stretch, 36's fit perfectly. In my office, standard work wear can be anything from dress shirts and dress pants to jeans and a polo. These jeans can be dressed up or down and look great. I can sit at my desk all day and be as comfortable in these jeans as I am in a pair of dress pants. No stiff denim to bunch or cut into me. My only complaint is there are only 3 colors to choose from.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hoping to like but....not! I purchased these in the regular size that I get for the 1916 standard fit that are no longer available. The where way too loose so I ended up going to a nearby LLBean store. I tried on the next size and they fit better in the waist but super tight in the thighs. They told me these are the replacement pants. So after many years, I cannot now get the pants that fit me the best. The style of LLBean and quality has been going down hill over the years. It's not the same store...becoming less outdoors style and just another retailer.
