Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket, soft inside and super warm! I bought this for my fifth grader and he loved it! For reference, I ordered it in a Large 14-16, and even tho that was a tad bigger than his normal size, it worked great on him. My son normally wears a 10-12 in a shirt, and a 12 slim in pants, and he's 57-1/2" tall and weighs 71 lbs. He does have long limbs, so the sleeves still worked on him with no problem. He absolutely loves the color combo of the blue, orange and silver version of this jacket, and he says the inside is soft and warm. He said he even showed it to his friends and they felt inside and all exclaimed about how incredibly soft the lining felt. It's a total win as a mom purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from size up-inner fleece thick This is our first time ordering this particular jacket. My son is a average 7 year old on the shorter side and we tried this on in summer to see how it would fit for prospective winter. Sleeves seemed good length, end of jacket was ok not super long however --he did only have a t-shirt on and it seemed "tight" and bunched up his t shirt at his sleeves and chest. I believe it's because of the thick inner fleece so for that reason I'm going to send back and try the kids small size 8 because we generally wear thicker shirts in Wisconsin with this kind of coat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pass on this coat I am one never to write reviews but I wanted to let people know how easy this coat tears. This is a boys coat, it should be able to withstand Normal play. This coat has torn within one month of buying it and my son that is wearing it isn’t even hard on his clothes. Coat needs to be made stronger, very disappointed with ll bean. I buy my kids coats here to ensure quality and ll bean to back their clothes. Now I have to purchase a new coat for my son to wear before I can send this back to see if they will “guarantee” it. Just save yourself the headache and get a different coat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm, but could be improved We've had this coat for less than a year. It's very warm and my child really loves it! The inside is very soft. However, it sheds feathers like no other down jacket we've owned. My child's clothing is always covered in stray feather bits. Also, the exterior fabric is not as heavy duty as we've experienced with other L.L. Bean kids' coats and I've already patched a couple of tears. The zipper also catches. I was hoping to pass this down to younger siblings, but I don't know if it will even survive one winter season of almost-daily use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loved It, Until My husband's mother bought this coat last season for our boy and he absolutely loved it! He was so excited to put it on for the first time this season. We pulled it from the coat closet where it has been since March and after a few hours a small hole in the middle of the chest began to form. We purposely bought the coat a size too big so that we could get 2 winters out of it. It finally fits well and unless I tape the hole I'm not sure how it will be usable. If there was a way to repair it I absolutely would. He loves this coat. I was going to buy his little sister the same coat in a different color but now I'm not sure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great jacket, but Not Washable!!! Despite following the washing instructions explicitly, this coat was ruined after 1 wash. I’m so dissatisfied with this product. I dried it with tennis balls to restore loft in the coat, but it has clumps of down in all the compartments. It is unwearable now. I will be returning this. cute, but not for for kids.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Great, Fabric Stains Easily I bought this jacket with the hopes of handing it down the line like our other LLBean coats, but this one won't make the cut. The fabric holds stains and it's not easy to wash. We also are seeing small tears here and there. The jacket was initially beautiful, but now looks terrible. My daughter is an active 1st grader and half way through this winter I had to purchase a new coat. This one is falling apart and just looks dirty. I've tried everything.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice fit but poor quality Nice-looking jacket, warm and a good length. However, the hood came apart from the jacket after 4 weeks and could not be re-attached. Sent it back and ordered another. It has started to split at the seams, and the fiber is falling out. Just 3 weeks wear for this one! Have now sent the second one back and have chosen a completely diff style.
