Rated 5 out of 5 by HikingGeocacher from Perfect for Hiking and Geocaching! I an a huge fan of these shorts. They are lightweight, have adjustable waist bands, quick drying, and plenty of secure pockets. I have a few pairs of these shorts and they are my go to shorts for my outdoor activities. I frequently go on long hikes and geocache while hiking. These shorts have zippered back pockets and a cargo pocket on the right leg. I am able to place my phone in a back pocket and zip it closed to ensure I do not lose the phone while walking or traversing boulders, etc. My only wish is for more color options, a green and khaki would be great. Also, please offer slate in the women's sizes. Great shorts!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by girlfeia7 from Reviews are never accurate I just ordered my trail shorts in the ash color , I love them . Their thin material nylon that makes them cooler for the summer and dryer . My issues is I base my ordering on rewiews on fitting , I normally always wear a 12 and that's what I order . I order a lot off the internet with no issues . People have stated a good fit . Thinking you squeezed your self in them and don't mine a tight fit. I am having to send mine back as they fit way to tight. My little rolls show. That will cost me 7.50 for the ARS label . I can snap, zip them . Their tight .. I am going to reorder a 14 ,, I am 5'2 160 lbs . Please be more accurate on your reviews !

Rated 5 out of 5 by SherryCT from Great Shorts I had ordered 2 pairs for my vacation and they wear great, and fit like a glove and are very comfortable. I take a 12 and the size was true. If they get wet, they dry quick. This was a beach vacation so I wore bathing suit bottoms underneath and these shorts work great for this. Nice pockets and neat zippers that are not bulky. Length was fine. Can wear as regular shorts and not necessarily strictly for 'hiking'. I washed them too and they did not shrink at all. Maybe a little ironing might help. I ordered a black pair today and the fit is consistent across all 3 colors. I wish they had more colors like Navy or Dark Green. I recommend these shorts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RickysMom from Scratchy waist band I finally found some lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, black shorts with a medium length in-seam....and the waist band material is itchy. The adjustable tabs have an oversewn hem that jabs my waist. The absorbent part of the waist band rubs too. Darn! These are also in the new cut - meaning they grab you in the crotch. Not especially attractive and definitely not comfortable. I wore them around the house for almost an hour (without a shirt tucked in) and had to take them off. (I'm 5'5" 120 pounds and usually wear size 4 but I bought these in size 6 for extra comfort. Hah!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grauntie from Consistent Quality I just received my third pair of these trail shorts, and held my breath until trying them on. Am happy to report that they are EXACTLY the same fit and excellent quality as my other two pair, which I ordered a year or two ago. It's so refreshing to be able to order something you like, in the same size, and not be disappointed that they changed a button, or pocket, or worse -- the sizing! I wear them to hike, canoe, walk the beach, and even run into town. Just enough give, comfortable waist, great pockets -- and that sweet fabric that lines the main zipper! Thank you LL Bean for your consistent quality on these shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Seriously1 from Best shorts ever! Absolutely love these shorts! They are lightweight yet not flimsy. They look neat and stay neat all day long. Great shorts for travel. Just got back from 2 weeks in France. Wore these shorts everyday. Easy to rinse out in sink, they hang dry in a few hours. (At home, I don't put them in the dryer.) I also use these shorts for kayaking. They flex with every move and dry out quickly. I am 5'3" and weigh about 135. Size 10 fits a bit loosely but that's how I like them. Llbean also makes this style in a cropped length. Size 10 is too snug for me (the pockets pull) and the legs are too full. Wish they fit like the shorts and the style could use some updating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AnonymousShopper7 from Inadequate size quality control standards I bought two of these trail shorts at LL Bean about 3 years ago in size 12. They were wonderful. I absolutely loved them. Since then, through running, I have lost weight and dropped down to a size 8. I bought a size 8 and was shocked to discover they fit me the same, very loose, the way my previous 12s fit!. I pulled out my old size 12 and fit it against the new size 8 and low and behold, they measured out exactly the same inch for inch around the waistband! What is up with LL Bean quality control standards these days? I used to rely on consistent quality clothing at LL Bean - apparently no longer reliable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FLNY from Comfortable Shorts These trail shorts are comfortable. I read previous reviews and noted that they said they run large. I ordered three pairs one size larger than I usually wear and have found them to be too big. There are adjustable tabs on the inside and that has tightened the waist a bit. I still haven’t used two of the pairs and I am thinking about returning for my regular size. They are pretty high-waisted which causes them to roll down a bit. I have a long torso, so this surprises me. Overall, they are comfortable and easy wearing. They look nice after being washed and dried and don’t look wrinkled even after sitting a while.
