    Rated 4 out of 5 by from My cleaning lady thought the sheets were polyester Every other Friday I have a cleaning lady come in for about 2.5 hours, which include making my bed with "newly-laundered" sheets. She used these sheets straight from the package, and her initial reaction—I guess fooled by the high cotton thread count—was that they're polyester. I had waited with trepidation for her to make the bed, because a previous reviewer had said the fitted bottom sheet was too large for a 7-inches-high mattress. It's fine, but she felt the top sheet is too big.

The sheets are flimsy and see through when held to the light. They drape and cling, which is not what quality percale should do. LL Bean celebrates that they are "supima" cotton with a 280 thread count. They don't acknowledge that threads making up the "count" are so thin that the fabric lacks density and body. The elastic is weak and narrow; it doesn't hold the bottom sheet securely. They are a huge disappointment and I am returning them.
