Rated 5 out of 5 by Bethany from Perfect lightweight cardigan I spent a lot of time looking for a lightweight non-sweater/sweatshirt cardigan that I can travel with, and easily stash in my bag (which, ironically despite living in Maine I overlooked LLBean for a while!) This is perfect! Its just enough drape and length over the bum but without excess material to make you look frumpy. Ideal for transitional season weather and AC in the summer. For additional reference I also purchased the Pima Open Cardigan With Rib Trim and while I'm keeping that as well, I like this one better as it is a little more fitted and less casual than the rib trim, though the rib trim is longer over the bum.

Rated 3 out of 5 by stgcrm999 from Almost First of all - Thank you! Thank you! for carrying Petite XS. LLBean is one of the few places I can find clothes. Love these Pima cardigans for year round office casual or jeans wear. I like pockets anytime, and feel so-so about the split back. But I'm returning this one because of the stitching down the front. On the mauve berry, the thread doesn't match too well and looks like you're wearing it insideout. Matches better on the darker Royal Plum, but still. I'll try again next season, and try to order early since the colors I like always sell out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy2BeInTheNW from GREY for the Plus Size Gals Please!!! Is it too much to ask for the basic non-pastel colors in plus size? I mean, apparently. I saw where some folks were bummed out about the split back - okay. I have to say, this is really different than every other freaking topper out there, and I LOVE the bit of flair in the back. My bootie is big, and that's not a moral problem for me. I like the band and split because it adds some finesse to the garment. I will say, I'm generally between a 2X and 3X on top in LLBean (straight up 2X on top in Land's End). This runs large. If you're between sizes, opt for the smaller size, IMO.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Frenchy from PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL ONES WITH BUTTONS! I have dozens of the original pima cotton cardigans with buttons. I love them. I wear one everyday in the summer ( with a matching polo), because of the air conditioning. I have hesitated to order the new style because of the mixed reviews. We recently visited the store in Freeport, Maine. I was able to try one on. My husband immediately told me that it did nothing for me. The style is very unflattering and not youthful looking. Please bring back the original ones with buttons. And please bring back the polos. So glad that I ordered extras of both the original cardigans and polos when they were available

Rated 5 out of 5 by dbdunston from I love this jacket It just arrived, and I immediately ordered two more in different colors - with coordinating tee. 1. The pima cotton drape is perfect. It's a nice soft jacket but not shapeless. 2. The length is perfect. Not too long, not t0o short. The bottom hits at the first joint on my thumb. 3. The fit is a bit generous, but not overly so. I usually wear an XL; occasionally an L. I ordered L and it fits perfectly. 4. Bean's pima cotton is the best. It holds up to washing and is comfortable to wear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by illinoisretirednurse from Split back not attractive I have and love the pima open cardigan from past years, and wanted to order another color. What a disappointment to find that the back is now split. It even looks unattractive on the model. I'll try one of last year's that is still in stock. Unfortunately only misses are left; I wear a petite. I will wait for next year's iteration, which I hope will not have a split back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by malenkya from Meh I was hoping this would replace an old Lands End cardigan jacket that I wore to death. It doesn't. The fabric is thin, very much like Bean's t-shirts (which I do love). If I put it over a knit or woven shirt it sticks and wrinkles when it should hang straight; I would give it more stars if the fabric were more substantial. The front opening is quite wide (and I'm quite flat-chested) so it's not very useful for warmth, and there are no buttons. I kind of like the waist seam and back opening; they add a bit of much-needed style. Bottom line: I'd find this a useful, versatile top layer if (a)the fabric were heavier, (b) the front closed all the way and (c) it had buttons or some other closure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by SlipperLover from Good for casual I usually order Petites, but ordered this in a Regular to get the extra length to cover my shirts, and that worked out well. I stitched up the back split because my butt's big enough that the split was always open, which I found unattractive. I also tacked up the sleeves at the cuff, since they're too long for me in a Regular. The pockets are convenient for tissues, but make my hips look more bulky, so I would not wear this for anything but casual (around the house, running errands). I really wish you'd bring back the Pima Flyaway Cardigan -- it looked great for dressy or casual, and was very comfortable! If I could get that again, I'd order it in a Regular to get the extra length.
