Rated 1 out of 5 by SleepsWithBirdDogs from Weak seam? I've bought a number of these shirts. Recently, one of them tore along the top right side of the back--the seam simply came unstitched. No matter--that particular shirt was probably over a year old. Several weeks later, though, another shirt (same type and size of shirt; wrinkle-resistant, pinpoint Oxford, French blue) tore in the exact same spot. This shirt was essentially new--I had purchased it fairly recently. Since I don't have a protuberance in that spot on my back, I'm force to conclude that this is a workmanship issue. So, when I buy my next pinpoint Oxford, I'll be purchasing it from that company with the misplaced apostrophe in its name.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Donnybrook2 from Recent drop in quality I have three of these shirts from one year to over three years old. They are great, my favorite feature being the quality of the cotton - so soft and comfortable. This summer I vacationed in Maine for the first time and made the pilgrimage to the flagship store where I bought two more new shirts. What a disappointment! What happened to the quality cotton material? After the first wash, both shirts were not very soft and positively itchy in comparison to my old shirts. Have they cheaped out on the cotton quality? Disappointing at the premium price. Used to be five stars. Would no longer recommend at the price. Too bad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Shirtless2 from Shirts don't last long enough for what they cost I somewhat reluctantly sat down to order more of these shirts to replace several that wore out way more quickly than they should have. Thought I'd look at the reviews to see if anyone else has the same issues, and obviously they do. You might ask why I would order more of an item that I am not satisfied with. It's simple, department store shirts are worse, and these Bean shirts used to be great. Come on L. L., please go back to the way things used to be. I know this isn't a message board, but can anyone recommend a better alternative at a similar price? All of the shirts I ordered a little over a year ago have fallen apart at the same time. I'm still a Bean guy, but these shirts are a disappointment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CustomerFromMO from Not what it used to be I've been wearing this shirt for at least 15 years. Coming back over and over to buy more of the same thing. In my opinion, this was the best shirt that money could buy. But something has changed. The most recent shirt is only a fraction of the thickness and weight of the shirts I have bought in the past. I read the other reviews complaining about wear problems. Based on my first wearing of this shirt, I have to say this is almost certainly going to be a problem. I'm very disappointed and will be looking elsewhere for my dress shirts in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TheWifeHere from Quality Substantially Diminished This is not the same shirt I willingly paid a premium price for last year. The fabric is markedly thinner, with a cheap, harsh feel and shine to it. The soft, thick drape is gone. The stitching and details are weaker and less crisp, and the breast pocket looks almost like a fake pocket, it is so thin. This shirt is no different from what I could pick up at a local department store for my husband, yet it is far more expensive. Since even the premium quality shirts were beginning to fray badly after one year of weekly washing/wearing, I can imagine the brief lifespan of this shirt. If you are going to change the quality this far on a product, it should not be advertised as the same product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Grayhair from Too Thin This is my second negative review of the pinpoint oxford shirt. The material keeps getting thinner. Two years ago, the shirts were great. I still have two of them and they have performed beautifully. Six months ago the material was thinner, but still OK. Now the material in my last purchase and in this one is just too thin. I kept the last one, but this one is going back. Please, LL Bean, don't let the quality of your products deteriorate. I have depended on you for almost all of my clothing purchases for many years. Don't make me go elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NHErin from Great shirt but tears easily, weird stains as well These are the only shirts my husband will wear, and he needs to wear one every day for work (full suit everyday). Unfortunately, they all tear at the elbow. The only reason we keep getting them is they are the only wrinkle-resistant shirts out there that are truly wrinkle-resistant. The last few shirts we ordered from the website also came with weird black oil stains all over them, straight from the package! Not even repeated washings would remove the oil stains so unfortunately 2 out of the 4 shirts we bought were not wearable and went into the bag we now keep for LL Bean returns. Love the shirt, just wish they were made with a more quality material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pants from Absolutely the best wrinkle free I am disturbed by some of the recent reviews noting a deterioration in the quality of these shirts. I'm hoping this is an anomaly because these shirts are amazing and I don't know what I'd do without them! They are by far the best wrinkle free shirts I can find. I have tried other brands because there aren't many color choices in these(please add more colors!) and none of them compare to these shirts. They wash and dry like a dream. I have never once had to use an iron. Plus, my husband says they're very comfortable. For the ease and quality, they are incredibly reasonably priced.
