Why We Love It
This exclusive flannel shirt is woven just for us by true artisans in Portugal. These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn’t automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the “touch test.” Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.
Fabric & Care
- Made of high-quality Portuguese cotton flannel, an L.L.Bean exclusive.
- Expertly brushed for exceptional softness and warmth.
- Machine wash and dry.
- Button-front styling.
- Chest pocket.
- Shirttail hem.

Rated 3 out of 5 by St8c from Please where's the Tall's? I I've tried LLbean flannels a few times now, and although there is some neat color options, the fit is just not suitable for us tall people. Anyone with a long torso or long arms will have trouble with the fit. Your're forced to order a size or two up which is unflattering. If you extend your arms out in front of you or raise your arms above your head the sleeves slide up to your elbows and/or it gets drafty at your mid-section, everyone gets a view. Isn't there anyway to offer these plaid flannel options (and the fleece-lined flannel), in a tall fit (???)..... ....I would not recommend for Talls, but for everyone else LLbean flannels are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by flanflanerie from Classic, warm, and beautiful I have 2 scotch plaids in XXS Regular (5'2", ~118 lbs), one relaxed and one slightly fitted - the fit is pretty similar between the two but this one is indeed a little bit slimmer. They are both great and could be worn alone, under a sweater, or as an outer layer with a tank top. The deep evergreen tartan color is beautiful, and black stewart is classic as well. I am on the lookout for black watch to go on sale, since I now have so many flannels I can no longer justify buying them at full price. Anyway, these two will get lots of fall and winter use for many years to come! For spring and summer, I will stick with the lighter weight Freeport Flannels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BethinWAstate from I'm in Love with this flannel! I bought nearly every color of this fitted flannel in size Misses M because the first one I purchased was so perfect. I needed more. Soft, comfy, roomy, stylish. I am a 5'5" 138 lbs. Size M is just right! The length in back is ideal for me as it covers most of my behind, which is great since my skinny jeans are form-fitting. The roominess of this shirt is on point. Not too loose (as with relaxed fit flannel) but just right with room for a tight t-shirt or cami under it. These flannel shirts are super cute alone -- or with my new Mountain Pile Fleece Vest. I'll be buying all colors of this timeless, classic flannel.

Rated 2 out of 5 by W2017 from Just okay I'm 5'3", 36D, 170lbs and bought Misses in Slightly Fitted, Size Large (I usually wear size 12) in Black Watch and Stewart Victoria. Pros: Very soft flannel, beautiful Scottish plaid pattern, did not wrinkle terribly or shrink when washed cold and hang-dried, and will keep me warm in fall/winter. Cons: Poor quality material pills/bobbles (after first wash) and the shirts I have are made in El Salvador. 100% cotton so may shrink (so I bought a size larger). Major lint attractor! Overall: Best to get on sale if at all. Willing to pay for product made of higher quality material. Other reviewers have said past flannel shirts of better quality material were made in Portugal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NYLovesLLB from Cozy & Soft I am very picky when it comes to adding an item to my wardrobe, not to mention that it can be difficult for women to find a flattering flannel shirt. This shirt did not disappoint!! It is fitted just enough to make it feminine, but not so much that it is uncomfortable; the arm length and shirt length are spot on! For reference, I am 5'4", 167lbs., 36C bust, and I purchased the regular medium. It fit perfectly, no puckering in the bust, no pulling across the back!! I would love to see this shirt offered in a red/black buffalo check!! I highly recommend this shirt and will be back to purchase another one in the very near future...hopefully in a buffalo check!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by StrugglingMinimalist from New Favorite Shirt One of my friends once told me about the difference between a FLANnel and a flanNEL. A FLANnel is a shirt that you wear for grunge work or whenever; a flanNEL is one you keep nice to wear on dates or family event. This, ladies, is most definitely a flanNEL. The fabric is soft and warm, and the tail is long enough that it goes to my tush (I'm 5'10" - this is important to me). The longer tail means it layers nicely under sweaters and vests. My one minor complaint is that the sleeves are about an inch shorter than I would like, but it's not bothersome enough for me to dock a star. If I could change one thing, it would be to offer this in a tall size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ColoradoErin from Comfortable, soft, and great fit! I love my slightly fitted flannel shirt! The material is very durable, while still being soft. It feels like you're wearing a warm hug, which is great on cool or cold days. I had been looking for a nice and warm cotton flannel shirt for quite some time, but was never pleased with the fit a quality. This one is a great fit (I usually wear a 2-4 dress shirt and the XS was the perfect fit, without being tight in the arms)! I also love the richness of the color (the Prince Charles Edward red is a nice, imperial red without any orange tone, which was perfect) and how well is has held up without pilling, or fading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by loghomelady from Hefty Weight for Cold Climates I live in the northern mountains of California, where it can snow as late as April and I spend a lot of time outdoors, so real flannel, not designer "flannel," is important to me. The Scotch Plaid flannels are soft, thick and warm, and coordinate well with the waffle henleys, too. I have both the Slightly Fitted and the regular Scotch Plaid flannel shirts and I do feel the Slightly Fitted is just that. There is a slight curve to the waist area, but if you are looking for a snug look this may not be it. I think it all depends upon your "style," your body shape, and your warmth needs. I order a Misses XL so I can layer underneath. There, I hope this helps.
