Men's Rugged Ridge Parka is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 809.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waterproof until you wash it Positives first - very warm and comfortable, I like the length (covers your butt, keeps the wind out), inside of the sleeves have a stretchy fabric which keeps the wind out without being a nuisance when taking the coat off, and a functional hood (stays on). Negatives - zipper isn't great, and it's only waterproof until you wash it. I followed the care instructions and when the coat came out it doesn't bead up water at all. That said, I've never had a waterproof coat that has stayed that way for long, so this isn't an exception. Bottom line - I'm keeping it because it's warm and comfortable but it's not going to function as rain coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Winter Jacket!!!! I bought this jacket last December when it was on sale during the Christmas season. I ordered it online and when it got delivered, the jacket was so light that I was wondering if it will withstand the Ottawa cold.... I used it all winter and I should say that this is the best jacket ever!!! The windchill went close to -40 C for a few weeks and I did not feel it that cold, thanks to the rugged ridge parka... This is so well designed that it has pockets and pouches for all your winter needs... I would highly recommend this to anyone!!!! Don't be fooled by its light weight... go ahead and buy it and you will not be disappointed.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems good, time will tell I just received this a couple weeks ago, and only have worn it twice so far. Its just been too warm for the coat. I do like the weight of the coat, its fairly light. The internal pockets are absolutely huge. The overall length of the coat goes past my hips and that helps to keep the wind out. because it is a little longer than some coats, they put in a double zipper. that means you can zip up the coat as far as you need, and then unzip from the bottom, to gain access to pants pockets or make it easier to bend down. I can't wait for some real cold, so I can really see what this coat can do. And being in the UP of Michigan, it shouldn't be too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect winter coat I've searched 3 years for the perfect winter coat and finally found it here. I especially appreciate the removable hood because I don't use hoods or hats. Removable is better than roll-up because it doesn't create the bulk around your neck. I've read reviews here that say this coat is sized too large or too small, but I wear an XL and ordered an XL and it fits perfectly. I also dislike zip-out liners or "3-way" coats. This one is the classic one-piece, insulated, single zipper coat that is warm, comfortable and not too noisy considering the waterproof fabric it is made of. Also love the super-soft fleece collar and pocket linings. Top quality all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations I originally purchased this item in Large/Tall and found it a little snug through the chest and shoulders. I exchanged it for an Extra Large which fit perfectly. The parka arrived in time to be put to the test. Windy with low single digit temperatures at night and mid-teens during the day. I stayed very comfortable and was very impressed with the wind protection. The weather then turned cold and wet...low to mid 30's with wind and rain. Again, I remained comfortable and dry. The parka is well made and the workmanship impeccable. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase...it has exceeded my expectations and I don't hesitate to recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs big - amazing customer service I ordered this jacket for my husband on 11/30 and it arrived on 12/1. The quality is great, seems very comfortable and is incredibly warm. The only negative is that the jacket runs big. I was on the phone with a pleasant customer service rep for all of 3 minutes to exchange for a smaller size. The customer service rep pulled up my order based on the phone number I called from, she immediately knew what I ordered, verified my shipping address, confirmed my credit card info and let me know when the jacket is scheduled to ship. A 3 minute phone call? What other company has a customer service team that is this efficient? I don't know of any!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handsome and High Quality It's obvious that LL Bean put a good deal of thought into this parka. While I have not worn in extreme cold conditions yet, I can say that features like the velcro sleeve closures, ample number of interior and exterior pockets, and insulated hood speak to the high quality design. I personally have had no issues with the double zipper mentioned in a number of the other reviews . Closing the hood tight will cause it to drape over my eyes somewhat, but this is not a big deal. The Primaloft insulation means the parka is not puffy like a down jacket, which for me is a big plus. Bottom line - it's good looking coat that gets the job done.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm 1. The only problem, and this is of some concern to me, is the zipper. It is difficult to engage the zipper mechanism. One has to sometimes manipulate the zipper before it "catches" so that one can zip up the coat. If this causes the zipper to malfunction at some point, L.L. Bean will be hearing from me. 2. Otherwise, the coat is warm and comfortable. I've tested in sub-freezing weather and it does the job of keeping me warm, though I always use a another thin layer and an L.L. Bean hat to keep extra warm. 3. Were it not for the difficulty with the zipper, I'd recommend this coat to anyone.
