Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men's Maine Warden's Parka with Gortex I live in VT where we still get very cold winters. I have had parkas from other companies but this is the best one ever. Although a bit heavy it is truly wind and water proof and keeps me toasty despite -3 wind chills yesterday. The medium size is a perfect fit (I'm 5'11", 38" chest) and allows for comfortable layering as needed. Once the fabric softened a bit the zipper works just fine. The outside hand pockets are a bit shallow and horizontal so my car key fob fell out when I first sat in the car. Now I've got a great, versatile Parka and use the vertical chest pocket for the key fob. What's not to like!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A warm coat indeed If you're like me and want to be warm no matter what the outside is like, then buy this. Seems to be good quality even though I haven't taking it camping/riding yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Modern Classic I finally decided to replace my 30 year old (!) Maine Warden's Parka. This new one seems every bit as warm and durable. I love that the basic pocket layout hasn't really changed. The old parka had slightly deeper hand pockets and larger, adjustable Velcro hood flaps. The new parka has Velcro to secure the main zipper wind flap instead of the robust snaps that the original had. I may miss those snaps. All-in-all, it's still an amazing parka.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the reviews that is negative is about the hood being too small in foul weather not covering face enough if raining or snowy. If I was using the coat for law enforcement or hunting I wouldn't want a hood that blocks to much of your peripheral vision. It still covers your head and face just not going out the extra few inches . Nice with the removeable liner which can be worn separately.
