Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Winter Boots I would highly recommend these boots for the winter, especially if you live in an area with a lot of snow. They are insulated, have rubberized bottoms, and are taller than the other duck boot styles. I personally like these boots much better than the shorter boots because they keep your feet warmer. Since the boot is taller, it also allows you to walk through a snow bank if needed. They also go perfectly with leggings and jeans which makes it easier to match when going out. Overall, I would definitely recommend this type of Bean Boot because they are warm, long-lasting, and durable. A perfect combination for whatever winter throws at you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable and warm I would give these boots more stars if I could. I bought my exact size (10 1/2 wide) and they have been perfectly comfortable from the first wear. That's a lot for me to say because even my sneakers hurt after a day of wear. Everything about these boots is perfect. They arrived on a cold, rainy day and kept my feet dry, warm, and comfortable all day. They easily fit under my straight leg jeans, and also work well if I tuck my slimmer pants into the boot. I was hesitant to order these because I worried about how stiff they would be. That has not been a problem either. All I can say is that I am very glad I purchased them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miami->DC, needed warmth&style SIZING: I am between a 7.5 and 8. I ordered a size 7M and fit perfectly with room for a heavy sock. WARMTH: Even with a light sock the shearing(lamb fur) keeps me really warm. With a heavy sock go outside for hours in the snow. Perfect for my transition from Miami to DC lifestyle. COMFORT: The arch support is great and elevation of the foot is perfect. STYLE: it's easy to pair with grey wool coat, olive light quilted coat and navy down coat because it's SOLID BLACK gives more room to mix and match freely. ORDER: order in the summer because back orders happen ever winter but I understand, the quality of the boot is amazing. You can't rush a quality product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stinky after wearing in snow I love these boots and was very happy until they got a bit wet on the inside from wet snow. Turns out the the LL bean insert prevented them from drying on the bottom because it is made of a non-porous material..a few days later the boots were VERY stinky and I mean very! I have now taken the insert out, put baking soda in and vacuumed it out....and the stink is much less but not gone. Also needed to wash the bottom of the insert. If LL Beane wants to use a non-porous insert they should instruct buyers to always remove the insert when not wearing the boots. Or even better, find a porous substitute. For the cost these boots shouldn't have this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money and then some! I ordered these boots in July because I wanted to be well-prepared for southwestern VA weather. Today was the first day I have worn them. I took a 3 mile hike in 8 inches of snow, which continues to fall, by the way. My feet stayed warm and dry - absolutely no complaints!! And yes, they are waterproof. This is my second pair of Bean boots - the first, purchased at least 20 years ago, were unlined and no where near as warm as these. If you live in a snowy or cold area, you will not be disappointed if you purchase these boots! For reference, I normally wear a size 91/2 to a 10; ordered these in a size 9 and they fit beautifully with light-weight socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Boots in the World I have multiple pairs of LL Bean boots, but I decided I needed something warmer for Vermont winters. I literally wore these every single day last year, through some rough conditions including ice, rain, snow, salt for snow, and pretty much everything else you can imagine. They still look brand new! These boots are the warmest boots I've ever owned, and very versatile. Yes, they are expensive, but I don't see needing a new pair for a very long time (if ever!). Definitely worth the high price tag. If you spend a lot of time outside in snowy conditions, these boots are a must!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So worth the wait! Best boots ever! Best boots ever! I wear a size 6-6.5 and have a narrow foot. I bought these in a 6 narrow (received them last may) and they are PERFECT. I have worn them everyday since November. No break in and super comfortable. They're perfect for commuting in the cold but aren't the best for standing outside in 10 degree temperature for long periods of time . As long as you are moving, they're the best. And they look really nice. The dark brown leather is beautiful. I can't say enough good things about these boots. No cold weather boots ever fit me. They are always way too wide. Until now. These are really perfect. Yay! So worth waiting for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing in every way I live in Chicago and between the -50F temperatures and the feet of water from the melting snow, it's been a mess here. I've been wearing these boots and I can't recommend them enough. They fit amazingly, are comfortable to walk around in for hours, and they keep my feet so warm. Plus, it's incredible how waterproof they are. I've been looking for the right boots for months, knowing how the weather gets, and always ended up with wet, cold feet. These boots are amazing. Importantly (for me at least) they're also really cute and don't look like I'm wearing rubber shoes or like I have big horse feet. I honestly love these boots.
