Rated 4 out of 5 by from review like all the products I have bought for years from LLBean the fabric has been getting thinner. You had some really great products a few years ago but iike Levis they are just average now. When you changed fabric supplier for the Premium Double L Polo a few years ago I guess the writing was on the wall that LLBean was cutting quality. I still have several Double L Polo's and top of the line pocket T shirts from over 10 years ago and there is no comparison with your current offerings of these products. My ten year old LLB shirts will probably outlast the new stuff. Careful with these type of decisions y'all could kill a good thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Not-So-Unshrinkable, Not-So-Tagless Tee I received three of these shirts as a Christmas gift. I put on one shirt out of the package and it fit perfectly. After going through one wash and dry, it shrank considerably (about 1/2" in length and also around the chest area). I can no longer wear it. I also experienced the "puckering" around the collar as another reviewer stated. As for the "tagless" claim, this is false. There is a rather large tag sewn into the side of the shirt. Very annoying. All three shirts are being returned today. Very disappointing that the product didn't live up to the promise...especially considering they're so expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever Men's Tee The deep olive heather is a beautiful color, and goes well with many colors of slacks. The Carefree Unshrinkable Tee is such high quality, and has very nice finishing. My husband wears these year-round, in different sleeve lengths. There is never any shrinkage, misshaping in the laundry process, or fading. He wears them to the gym, for at-home attire, and casual dress attire. After receiving the 1st deep olive heather, I ordered a second one, but had to wait 11 weeks to receive it because it was on backorder. I knew it would be worth the wait. But, remember, if you see something you like and want to order - order it IMMEDIATELY! :-)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bean's Sizes On first look, this is a good, high quality product, as expected. Unfortunately, I appear to now be somewhere between an XL regular and L tall. With other brands, I can usually wear either an L or XL -- fits just fine. I'm finding the current Bean line fitting a little tight and, as has become typical, the sleeves are barely long enough out of the bag. I'm sure this will shrink some, likely putting it in the give-away box due to three-quarter sleeves. I think Bean shirts are no longer for me. Larger sizes are way out of proportion. I'll bet they fit some people just fine. I'm about 5-10, 190 so, nothing particularly out of the ordinary.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shirt, but did shrink Husband bought this L/S shirt in heather great and navy. Very good shirt, fits true to size. Seem like quality-stitched shirts, and should last a good amount of time. Only four stars bc it's advertised as "unshrinkable," and the very first time out of the wash, it shrunk. Length was reduced by about an inch. Not a big deal. I had high hopes, but realistic expectations with these cotton shirts. This might not be a problem for some, but now my husband feels they are juuuust a bit shorter than he'd personally prefer. The grey shrunk more than the navy. Sleeves, shoulders, etc all fit better actually. Maybe we should order a "Tall" next time, but something to take into consideration!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only Giants Need Apply I LOVE the materials, designs and craftsmanship of LL Bean clothes, so why can't they design something I can wear? I've purchased and returned most of shirts/jackets over the years (call it the triumph of hope over experience) because they are so large. How do they grow people in Maine? The men must eat a moose a day for breakfast. I'm average height, weight and build, but the pullovers that I bought hung like nightshirts and I could have fit another person in them with me (an exaggeration, but they were easily too big by a third). I only reluctantly buy what I need from other sources now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality Has Plummeted These shirts are a poor shadow of their predecessors, which were made of heavier, harder-wearing material and much better made, especially around the bottom hem and sleeve cuffs. I have 20-year old versions of this shirt I would much rather wear than these newer, cheaply made versions. L.L. Bean used to be renowned for product quality, but no more. It has succumbed to sacrificing quality for the bottom line, and now the company’s goods are no better than any other online vendor. But I would pay more for better. I’ll bet others would too. I bought these shirts because Bean offers tall sizes. But when I find another company that also offers them, I’ll probably never buy another.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why spoil a good thing I bought my second long sleeve Tee (with pocket) a year or two ago, having been very happy with the previous one and all the short=sleeve pocket Tees I'd bought from LL Bean (and still wear). I could not understand why this latest purchase was so uncomfortable until I read reviews talking about the introduction of "wrinkle free" chemicals to the product line. This explained the itchiness I experienced with it. To whom is the absence of an occasional wrinkle so important that they would contaminate an otherwise excellent product? What a shame. I've not ordered another t-shirt since. I'll give it an extra star in deference to those who don't mind a modicum of discomfort as a price for hyper-neatness.
