Rated 1 out of 5 by Chesterannaful from Very Disappointed ~ Long Time Customer I only ordered one of these turtlenecks this fall suspecting that it wouldn't meet the quality that LL Bean once had in their clothing. Warm but completely abraded right out of the package. ~ I now only order the Bean turtlenecks for sleeping in at night. Never for dress as I once did before they introduced their free shipping. LL Bean, I am now shopping at stores looking for the quality that I was use to with your clothing. I would rather pay for shipping again and higher prices if you would bring back the excellent quality in merchandise. This is a very sad route you've taken since introducing free shipping. ~ LL Bean customer since 1997.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BainbridgeIslandGal from Bring back the blends, please! I have LL Bean turtlenecks I have worn every winter for the past 15 years that were made in a poly/cotton blended fabric that was perfect weight, draped beautifully, and looked great straight from the dryer. I have since tried the cotton versions now available and have been disappointed every time. The fabric is too bulky for layering and does not drape nicely enough to wear on its own. The body always shrinks a bit in length and just makes my shape look square and clunky. I wish you would bring back the old style 50/50 blend fabric--I only have 2 of them left, but would buy every color now if I could! ~ Always hopeful, Bainbridge Island Gal

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pivo from Way better than the more expensive Sig. turtleneck I bought both the Interlock turtleneck in heather green and the much more expensive ($39) Signature Turtleneck. In my opinion, the Interlock turtleneck is of much better quality - the kind of quality I'm used to with LL Bean. It's thicker, but not too thick, I like to wear them under sweaters, and the neck stands up far better than the signature. By mid-day the signature turtleneck was droopy and sagging below my sweater. I'm back to purchase more Interlock turtlenecks. I know the signatures are supposed to be thinner and more fitted, but they just feel and wear like a cheap turtleneck, and especially considering the price difference. Go with the Interlock!

Rated 1 out of 5 by BCtoVT from Disappointed I have one of these from 20 years ago, when LL Bean made almost everything in North America. Although faded, it is still comfortable and fits well. Ordered another a couple months ago and was dismayed to find that the sleeves are a full 3" too short. As a result, I can only wear it under another top as it looks odd sitting way up above the proper wrist line. For many years I have noticed a definite decline in quality of LL Bean products that are made offshore. I am not sure why the arm lengths of the turtlenecks have become shorter, but from now on I will purchase turtlenecks and other long-sleeved garments elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jaleesburg from Shrinks in Length, additional note I am unable to find anywhere in the description the length of this turtleneck. It fell nicely before washing to cover my abdomen in a size L (I weight 175 lbs and am 5'2" tall). But safter washing, it is only 24" from shoulder to hem. This is too short for me now and I need to wear a longer sweather over it to cover my abdomen. LL Bean you should include length in your size & fit chart and also mention that there is shrinkage in length. I can now see that in the picture of the item, that it sits at the high hip BEFORE washing. If you are young and/or thin without an abdomen this might work for you but not this Gramma.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sandip from Turtlenecks I love these turtlenecks!!! They fold over at the neck and come up high enough so it doesn't look like a mock turtleneck. Also equally important is the sleeves have cuffs on the wrist. This is major as when wearing a sweater or other shirt over it, I want the sleeve to stay down instead of riding up my arm and constantly needing to be pulled down. My only complaints are I wish the sleeves were a bit longer and that they offered more colors. I wear a medium and the sleeves just barely come to my wrist. Since this seems to be a common thing among tops in general maybe there could be a long and short as has been done with pants

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beverlee from Very nice turtleneck! I bought two of these tops recently. The first arrived in a different color than I had ordered. The color name was right but the shade much different than pictured. I kept it anyway as it looked okay on me. Ordered pale turquoise heather and was so pleased with this color but I don't see it as a choice anymore. I bought a size medium as I am between a small & med. and didn't know if these would shrink. No shrinkage noticeable, fits great, and the material comes out of the dryer soft and unwrinkled, which is amazing because my washing machine does a torture job on all my clothes. The material is just that nice, it is worth the money & more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by msmuffintop from Nice, comfortable shirt Feels well made, I like the thickness of the material. I bought this color on sale, which made it worth its value to me. I don't know if I would have bought at full price. After it arrived I was so pleased with the color and comfort I purchased a second (also on sale) in an alternate color. Pro: there is enough room in the armholes for me, where I often have trouble finding a good fit. The material is stretchy enough I could exercise in this shirt. The shirt is conservative enough that I could also wear it to work. Cons: I wish it were slightly more fitted. There is something mannish looking about LL Bean clothes on me. The cut is square.
