Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought for my husband! These boots are fabulous, just be aware they run slightly big. If you’re between sizes, size down, but they are beautiful and he loves them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable These are very comfortable boots for a full day of activity. Good in the snow but as expected needs help on ice. I would suggest that you pay close attention to the size guidance as these boots do not follow traditional sizing. I followed the guide and was happy with the fit. If not I would have purchase a size way too big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best gift ever! Love these boots! Bought them for my son at Christmas. He is size 10 1/2 so I went up a size. He returned them for a smaller size and loves them!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall good First, I would rather have these than not. Let's get that out of the way. I think they will do the job in deep snow, especially since my other shoes won't do the job in even the most meagre of snow. Now for the less good... I did expect them to be warmer. In 10-degree weather and multiple pairs of socks, even thick ones, my feet stayed cold sitting in the car. We just got our best sheet of ice this season. I went out first and saw how terrible it was. I had no traction. I thought that would be that. But then my wife came out in her tennis shoes and had better traction than me. The warnings about how to pick sizes are correct--go down, they said--and that's why I rated them as true to size. That said, everything L. L. Bean runs big compared to every other retailer. I'm about 6' tall and 150 lbs., so there is no such thing as an L. L. Bean flannel shirt that will fit me properly. I wear an 11 in dress shoes and a 12 in comfy shoes. These 11s feel good in length, and my feet definitely are not sliding from side to side. But they are not snug, either. If I were to replace them, I wouldn't go all the way down to 10 (and they don't have half sizes, right?), and I have no reason to believe that I should go narrower (I can't even wear any tennis shoes except New Balance and Allbirds). Rather, I feel like the problem comes in me being a skinny guy once my ankle comes into the picture. It's impossible for me tie these tight enough and high enough. They wind up feeling like a slip-on shoe: it may be perfect in length and width, but without plenty of extra down or other cushion, you'll always feel like you're coming out of it. Part of this is me, as I have big and long toes and then get slimmer and shorter (though still wide) the closer you get to the heel. And if I went to an L. L. Bean store, I imagine that a salesman would tell me to just get a 10 and break them in as I wince in pain.
