Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and waterproof This is the second rain coat that I have bought for my daughter from llbean. The last jacket had a fleece liner which was great but it’s usually not cold enough here during our rainy seasons. So this time we tried the unlined one and love it! I believe that even after all the wear of this one it will be hand-me-down worthy. Quality material and well constructed. My daughter picked out the tuqouise color and its true to what you see in the picture. She is 7 but usually wears a size 8/10 in most other brands. This jacket runs a little large so we got the 6x-7 and it fits perfectly! I highly recommend this rain jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Need To Complain About the Rain We’ve been wearing this jacket for a month now during what feels like a mini-monsoon season for the Southeast. This is a rain jacket, could be used as a windbreaker, but definitely not a coat. My 8 year old says it will keep you dry, but not warm when wearing short sleeves underneath. That being said, sometimes warm isn’t what you need and being dry is enough. For that, it fits the bill and does so in a way that won’t leave you sweating or with material sticking to your skin. She’s happy with it and since she’s happy, I’m happy. We ordered it in pink. It’s a dull pink, not a pastel pink, but I’ve heard no complaint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizing and style has changed I have been buying this rain jacket for years for my kids. Last jacket that I bought for my daughter was in 2018 and a Little Kids Large (size 6x-7). Just received the next size up. Noticed a few things: There's now a flap covering the zipper secured with Velcro. I hate Velcro. It catches on everything. Next, the back hem is straight now as opposed to it being longer in the 2018 style. The last complaint that I have is that the sizing has changed. Previous year's fit always ran big. So I purchased the size 8. I held up the 2018 size 6x-7 jacket to the 2021 size 8 and they are about the same dimensions. Actually the 2018 6x-7 size is longer in the back when compared to the current style. Now L.L. Bean is making the fit true to size. I returned the size 8 and ordered the size 10-12 instead. L.L. Bean: Please make the next version longer in the back to offer more rain coverage just like you did in the 2018 style.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Recommend with reservations Jacket has excellent construction quality- what we would expect from LLBean. Sized accurately, great color choices/blocking. Reservation: this is NOT a waterproof jacket. Son was on an all day hike, with rain. He was soaked within 3 hours. A shame bc the jacket is really well made, just not waterproof.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great rain coat Fits well, looks good and folds up perfectly to fit in the front pouch of his back pack. Living in Orlando, Fl were we get tropical down pours for a few hours each afternoon between 1 April throw 1 October so my kids wear then frequently. It’s rather impressive they still look good and keep the kids dry after years of wear. This rain coat was the third kids LL Bean rain coat I have bought in the past 7 years. The youngest gets the hand my down so I can say ‘after 5 years it still looks and works great.’ Shame LL Bean does not make cars. lol

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ripped in the closet Kids can be tough on clothes and jackets, but this rain jacket ripped along the back seam when being hung up in the closet. It was hardly ever worn. I’m guessing this one was defective since we have bought these before and been happy. However, I wouldn’t recommend buying this rain jacket anymore. It’s too expensive to fall apart in the closet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortably waterproof Here in Hawaii, it rains quite a bit. Our child can run around in the rain and not get wet or overheat. This is a quality product with an added benefit of great pockets that zip close on the outside and are deep in the chest liner. The only thing I would improve is the front zipper it doesn’t appear it’s been improved on. We purchased a smaller one before this one and the zipper is starting to go. The size is true to roomy, which is great for them to grow into.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love this jacket My son has worn this jacket from the smallest size, now all the way up to the largest size. He loves it and so do I. It keeps him dry when it rains. It's easy to pack in case of rain. It's very durable. At every age, my son (who is rough on clothes) has worn it a lot, yet it was still in excellent condition to be passed on to someone else to wear. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth the money.
