Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for cold weather I wore the jacket for the first time this morning in 42 deg. partially overcast with a slight breeze and found the jacket to be not warm enough. Walked for 40 minutes and I was still cold. My arms and chest were warm but not my back. I will have to wear my packaway vest under the jacket. I wish LL. Bean would bring back their insulated jacket with the fleece side panels from a few years ago; that is so warm in comparison (I still have it but use it for working around the garden). Eliminate the fleece panels and make the whole jacket the same. Now I have to look for a warmer jacket so that I don’t have to wear a lot of layers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It I needed a jacket for an upcoming trip to Myanmar and I saw this one on a flyer that came in the box of another item I ordered online. I loved the silver color with yellow accents, so went online to order it. Here are some highlights of this jackey: * The fit is true to size. I layered a tee shirt and a hoodie under it and it still fit well. * The jacket compacts into its own pocket, very small, that takes up very little room in my backpack. * It doubles as a pillow in an airplane, when tucked into its pocket. * Perfect for cool mornings and evenings. * It is very light in weight, yet very warm. I highly recommend this jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight coat I am very petite and ordered the coat in mountain blue, XXS-P and it fits perfectly. It is roomy enough for layering a sweater underneath, without being baggy. I also love the color and that the coat is super lightweight and thin. It is a very vibrant pretty blue. The coat kept me warm at temperatures in the 40's (with just a long sleeve T-shirt underneath). It's also windproof (tested walking on the beach in Maine on a blustery cool day)and kept me dry in light rain. I am very happy with my purchase and can highly recommend this coat if you are looking for something for fall or early spring, as well as for milder winter climates.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as warm as expected, runs small This jacket is great in several areas - lightweight and not bulky, fits easily in a suitcase, not too warm for indoor errands. I bought a large in blue without a hood and then an extra large in green with a hood which fit much better. Overall runs small, especially if you have a sweater on. The hood is a bit annoying but nice to have for brief use. The zipper on my first coat was trouble after a few months. My main comment is this coat is NOT warm enough for winter unless you are just running errands and it's 20 degrees or warmer. Or perhaps for cross country skiing and above zero. Appreciate the synthetic option rather than down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great except zipper Love everything about this except the main zipper, which started failing after a few wearings. It's hard to line up both halves of zipper, and several times the part you pull upward to close the coat has separated from the part that stays at the bottom of the coat. On the plus side, the arms and shoulder accommodate my extra long arms and broad shoulders, and the torso accommodates a thick fleece vest. Highest warmth-to-weight ration of any coat I've ever had, while being quite lightweight. Zipper quality means I'll likely need to replace zipper before winter starts, and that should not be necessary when the coat is basically new.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from strange fit, too lightweight I have this same jacket type in 2 colors from last yr. It was my go-to jacket. I gained some quarantine weight & wanted to get it in a bigger size. Read the reviews stating that Bean changed jacket, it was thinner w a different fit from last yr. I am usually a MP or LP. Jacket was big on top & bottom but snug in waist (where my extra weight is) in both those sizes. Should've kept the LP that I almost bought last yr-warmer and thicker. I prefer more substantial zipper-feels flimsy also. Please bring back the packaway from yrs past!!!! Exchanged this jacket for a LR-am layering under it even tho it's big on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from time for me to update my coat Since I live in Florida, I have little use for a winter coat EXCEPT for when I travel to visit family and friends in cold climates. My 20 year old wool coat was bulky and beginning to show its age, so my daughter suggested that I look into the new advances available for winter outer wear. I'm so happy I did! This coat takes up a fraction of the space my old coat did and yet it kept me warm. It can be folded into its own pocket making it the size of a tooth fairy pillow - amazing. Some of the issues I worried about unnecessarily: the sleeves were plenty long, there are lots of pockets and it didn't make me look fat! For me, this coat is a winner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great jacket, terrible printed lining My teenaged daughter has this jacket (in ivory) and loved it so much she convinced me to get one of my own. I ordered it in the gorgeous Juniper color and was shocked that the lining was a horrible green/navy print reminiscent of a bad 1990s sofa. As hers was lined in the same material inside and out, and the photos online do NOT show the lining at all, I assumed it would be the same with the Juniper color. The jacket is amazing (super light, and shockingly warm), and the outside color is even better in person, but I am disappointed I am going to have to keep it zipped so the lining doesn't show. :(. Updated photos that show linings are desperately needed. So conflicted about returning it!!
