Rated 5 out of 5 by Pianola from Just right! I ordered this robe to appease my wife, who's been begging me for years to replace my old, fluffy, red bathrobe. I have to say, I'm so glad I made the change! The Scotch Plaid Flannel Robe is comfortable, dignified, and practical. The front overlaps all the way from side to side, giving good coverage. The pockets, side loops, and inner ties all appear well constructed, so I expect this robe will last me a while. It may not be quite as warm as my old, fuzzy bathrobe; but I expect it to work for a moderate Seattle winter, and the upside is that I can wear it in other seasons, as well! Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Nick0 from It's okay. I bought this to replace a beloved flannel robe that served me famously for 15 years. I'm not super happy with the replacement. The flannel is very fine and rather thin, which I guess will make it okay for wear during hot summers, but it's NOTICEABLY thinner than the same flannel used for the men's styles put out this same season. I also found the length on this too long for my comfort and plan to hem it up a good four inches -- the 'below calf' length is long enough to trip me when I go up and down stairs. (What I do like about the new robe? It is very soft and the color is pretty.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by Olivia from Lint for the New Year I was REALLY excited about this robe. I ordered it in a few sizes and decided to go oversized so it was extra cozy and could be worn over sweats and other loungewear. Love the pattern + fit BUT.... the fabric is just not what it used to be. My mother jokingly told me I ruined Christmas with the amount of flannel lint that consumed my holiday visit and her corresponding cleaning (even after I left). The amount of shedding this robe does is unacceptable and sadly, it got returned. I'm surprised there are no other comments about the excessive lint. My friend said she had the same issue with pajamas last year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RowdyMom from Nice replacement As with other reviewers, I just replaced an ancient LLB flannel robe with the Dress Gordon. I am 5'6", 125 lbs, and got a medium. I loved my old robe and hope I will love this one for a long time. The fabric is thinner but very soft. The arms and overall length are a little shorter. I have short arms so that suits me; I was still turning the cuffs back on my old robe that had been washed a million times, and the length on this new robe just covers my hand after one wash in cold water. The overall length is shorter, hitting me above the ankle, and I hope it doesn't shrink much in the future. Overall, I am happy with this replacement and recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PaddlegirlMA from Very disappointed I was really looking forward to the arrival of this robe. The description of "exclusive brushed Portugese flannel" that has been "brushed on both sides for superior softness" certainly does not apply to the robe I received. Not only was it not soft, it actually felt scratchy against my skin, even after several washings. The fabric was also very flimsy, not at all what one would expect from high quality flannel. I am very disappointed in this product...it is not what a consumer should expect from LLBean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by aebnyc from And it is STILL a great robe! After many years of loving and wearing/repairing my old “Heritage Plaid” version of this robe, I had to finally give it up and shop for a new robe. Sadly, the beautiful Heritage Plaids are not currently available, so I had to settle for the “Dress Gordon” Plaid as a replacement. What I loved about the first robe is still true of this replacement robe — quality fabric, nice long length, the fabric weight is perfect in that it is not too thin or too heavy, and the 100% cotton — it all makes for a WINNER! The ONLY thing missing is that beautiful vintage Heritage Plaid which is now so contemporary in feel. Please bring back the Heritage Plaids!! I will gladly buy another robe, or two!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Faranah from Finally I bought one of these thirty years ago. It has been washed a thousand times. Sadly, I spilled bleach on it. Still, I refused to throw it away because I could not get a replacement. Finally the scotch plaid is back, and in black watch. I am thrilled to have a new robe which is just as lovely as my original. This robe is soft and warm, and it folds over generously so it is modest. Over the years I have tried other brands' flannel robes - didn't come close to this one. If you want a great all season robe, you won't be disappointed with this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by eejl from Very light weight GOOD NEWS: 1. True to size 2. Well constructed BAD NEWS: 1. Use a color catcher when you wash this robe, I bought the Stewart red and it bled. 2. Very light weight flannel 3. Washer had gobs of lint after washing and when combined with the lint from the dryer it was almost tennis ball size when compacted. I was disappointed with the fabric quality used in this robe and would not recommend it.
