Versatile, lightweight, strong
I have several of these in all sizes and several patterns and they've been very durable. They zip closed and are handy for so many uses. Beach bag, shopping bag, weekender, carry-on item, hobby bag, day bag for travel or day trips, most anything you need to transport or carry. The part that has the top zipper folds down flat inside if you want to use it as an open top tote. The fabric and construction are sturdy but don't weigh much, and they are water resistant and wipe clean. I've even machine washed (cold, delicate cycle) one that was sticky from transporting food and it came out fine. Dried it off with a towel, turned everything inside out and dried the folds, dried that side off, and put it outside on the deck for both sides to finish air drying. .....
I also use the medium size as my "personal item" on planes in addition to my carry-on or if I've checked a larger bag. It's a little smaller than the maximum allowed for a personal item by most domestic airlines but holds my small crossbody purse and more than what I need to be immediately accessible on the plane, and some essential things in case a checked bag were to be delayed. .....
I love it because it's so lightweight. Not easily soiled and the medium fits under the plane seats especially if it's not over-packed. It has only one flat outside slip pocket and one (very useful) zip pouch inside, but that's adequate. In a bag this size it's easy to find things. .....
It doesn't have a trolley band or sleeve, but I just set it on top of my hardside spinner carry-on with the handles over the trolley handle. I love these bags! More colors and some new patterns, please.

Great size, great look, well made.
Bean had me at red buffalo plaid. I could not resist it. It is lightweight but sturdy and a great travel tote. My go to weekend bag.

Pretty but not stand on its own.
I liked the autumnal plaid design on the tote, however I was disappointed how flimsy it is. I like to use totes for my everyday purse. I like to carry my phone, wallet, my book, my iPad, and miscellaneous items. I blame myself for not reading more carefully. I was hoping for a tote that can stand up on itself.

Best multifunctional bag that Bean sells
I have used the large size as carry on luggage for multiday trips, as a briefcase to hold my laptop and files, and (most usefully) as a do-everything bag for long trips and international travel. On long flights, I board with it as a personal item, holding my handbag, sweater, food, laptop, pillow, and reading materials. On the trip, it functions as a beach bag, market bag, excursion bag, and is easy to clean. So versatile and it still looks brand new after several years and countless trips. One of the best things I have purchased from Bean in the last 40 years.

I bought the red/black medium size in September of 2021, so 3 years ago. I carry it at least twice a week (gym) and it still looks brand new, honestly. Very useful and versatile tote that holds up beautifully.

Medium tote is perfect
I bought the medium tote for running errands and a catch all bag. I love the zipper which keeps everything inside when I accidentally tip it over. I also bought the mini tote which is perfect for a lunch tote.
