L.L.Bean Announces Limited-Edition Archive Re-Issue Fleece

L.L.Bean understands the staying power of fleece. The iconic outdoor company was among the first to popularize the fleece pullover in the 1980s, an enduring status symbol both as an outdoor essential and wardrobe mainstay. L.L.Bean is celebrating the many lives of fleece with an Archive Re-Issue that demonstrates how beloved items can become new again, with a little ingenuity.

Available beginning April 18, the outdoor retailer will introduce the limited-edition L.L.Bean Archive-Reissue Fleece Anorak, made of deadstock fleece. Inspired by the 1992 pullover design and colorways, the company’s design team utilized materials sourced in part from surplus L.L.Bean fleece to recreate these two vintage designs.

The originality of the deadstock material ensures that each Archive Re-Issue Fleece is distinct, using high-pile and sherpa fleece respectively, that yields ultra-comfort and softness, with accents including a Kangaroo pouch and zip-collar for added warmth on cool days. Featuring an L.L.Bean Limited Edition Archive Re-Issue logo on the hem, these designs will be identifiable as one-of-a-kind.

In celebration of Earth Month, the designs will be on sale beginning April 18 exclusively on llbean.com. With an extremely limited run of these unique fleece anoraks, fans will have the rare opportunity to own an icon.
