The 90s are back, and L.L.Bean is reimagining one of its most iconic styles from the decade with a first-ever Archive Re-issue. The limited-edition capsule collection is inspired by L.L.Bean’s 1991 All-Sports Anorak – a retro design accented by bright color combinations and a loose and light fit, pulled straight from the L.L.Bean Archives where it has been tucked away for the past 30 years. Available online and at our Freeport Flagship store beginning May 10, this three-piece collection includes a reboot of the signature anorak jacket, along with a matching bucket hat and tote bag.
The collection not only reimagines classics from the past, but it does so by repurposing nearly 8,000 yards of surplus outerwear fabric in an effort to reduce waste. This surplus fabric is reimagined in retro styles that feature our signature quality, durability and weather protection – all with zero waste.
Amy Yeo, senior product designer at L.L.Bean, was key in making the Re-issue come to life: “This collection is completely unique to L.L.Bean – a revival of one of our most iconic 90s jackets, recreated using excess fabric to eliminate waste, and offers our customers a fun matching kit that is full of nostalgia and completely now in fashion.”
Practically pulled straight out of our 1991 catalog, this unisex Anorak is true to its 90s counterpart with an oversized fit, high-hand pockets and chunky trim.
