Why We Love Them
Whoever says “they don't build things like they used to,” doesn't own these boots. Today, our signature boots are still sewn right here in Maine – one pair at a time – by expert craftspeople whose technical skills and passion for their work is evident in every pair of boots they make. Warm, dry feet haven’t gone out of style in a hundred years, so we haven’t needed to change L.L.’s innovative design.
- Supple comfort of full-grain leather.
- A uniquely shaped foot form offers comfort and stability, and a steel shank adds support.
- Our original rubber chain-tread bottom provides traction and durability while keeping your feet dry.
- Thinsulate™ Insulation olefin/polyester for extra warmth during cold snaps.
- Waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex® lining keeps your feet dry and comfortable in extreme wet weather.
- These boots – the “original antidote to wet feet” – were designed by L.L. Bean himself.
- Still crafted here in Maine from the highest quality materials.
- Lined with Thinsulate insulation for extra warmth and Gore-Tex to keep feet dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ConfusedNeedBoots from Size and Fit I am normally a size 8, 8.5 in sandals. I have an arch and my toes are pretty wide. I have to get a half size up in sandals because my toes fall off the shoe! Anyway. I decided to get a size 7 Wide in Insulated Bean Boots. THEY FIT PERFECTLY! I was afraid that they would be too large, so I went a size down, but I went wide because I usually wear fuzzy socks with boots. The shoes are very comfortable and I am happy to be able to walk in puddles, no problem! They are good with fuzzy socks or thin socks. The boots come a size larger than what you'd normally get. And I have small calves, so I am able to tie them all the way up. They are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AmyAmy from Fantastic, after a sizing battle! I normally wear an 8, and sometimes (rarely) an 8.5. I followed the directions and ordered a size 7. The boots felt a bit narrow and tight on the side of my foot, and my toes didn't have enough room. The customer service department was amazingly helpful. They sent me an 8 and a 7-Wide to try. The 8 was HUGE, the 7-Wide also too big - my foot could move around too much, which made my toes hit the front of the boot. After trying those on, I put the 7 on and it felt really good. I went with the size 7 - I suspect it takes some time for the boots to break in, so they don't feel amazing right away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from If you don't know already. . . These boots really need no introduction, and probably no review. I bought my Bean Boots for riding. I had been looking at muck boots to wear in wet/cold weather, and figured I'd try the classic Bean Boot. They rock! With the Gortex liner, this boot is ultra water proof and warm. I wore them riding with just a thin pair of boot socks and my toes were toasty and dry. They are also really comfy and the tread keeps you from slipping. Best part, when they are all nasty and dirty, I just hose them off. With the even sizes only, they do run a little bit, but the plus is it leaves plenty of room for a nice thick sock. Love this boot! Worth the price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChicagoGirl90 from Read the reviews on sizing before you buy! I LOVE these boots. This is my first pair of Bean Boots. I had thought about getting them for awhile, and I finally pulled the trigger back in September. They were back-ordered (to be expected) and just arrived before the first snow in Chicago (before Thanksgiving). I have loved wearing them around in the rain and snow. They are just perfect and I'm so glad that I ordered Size 7 (Medium width). Even though I usually wear an 8 in boots (7.5 in other shoes), I followed the reviews and it worked out great. I typically describe myself as a 7.5-8 size with a narrow heel. If that describes you, go for the Size 7! ENJOY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CMGPA from Love these Boots! Be sure to follow "the ordering size suggestions" when ordering. I normally take a sz 8 and I ordered down to a sz 7 and they fit great with a lot of wiggle room in the toes wearing a medium wgt sock and the liner in. My foot is a narrow to average width so I ordered average because I have a very high instep. This worked perfectly because the tongue is sewn in to the side of the boot almost right to the top. They are "brand new stiff" but for brand new still comfortable being right out of the box. After wearing a few times and getting the ME wrinkles in them, they will be perfect! Just follow the sizing instructions and you will love them too! Thank you BRADY at Bean for making these fine boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by carajean74 from These are amazing. How have I never owned a pair of these before? They're incredible. I can tell by the craftsmanship that they'll last for years. I actually gasped when I opened the box. I mean, I've heard they were good... but c'mon. Are you kidding me? These are the nicest boots I have ever put on my feet. I can't wait to slop around in them this winter. I read reviews and watched the video on sizing. I usually wear a size 9 or 9.5 and have a wide foot. I didn't quite believe the thing about ordering a size down so I ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly with a pair of medium weight socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Smellen from Awesome Boots! I currently live in Western Washington and it rains a lot (like 75%-ish of the year!) and can get to below freezing temps occasionally in the winter. I wanted some boots that would be warm and waterproof, good for beach camping year-round and awesome quality and I immediately thought of the L.L. Bean boots! I stalked the website for a week or so until these became available in my size! I talked with multiple customer service reps as well asking about availability and sizing, and they were all so helpful! I definitely recommend these boots! You get what you pay for - the quality is definitely worth the price. I also have a special place in my heart for Maine, and I love that these are still made in Maine! Thank you, L.L. Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by NPBOS from So happy with these! They do run large. Last year I decided to finally bite the bullet and order some Bean Boots, but unfortunately, I didn't order the correct sizes. I had tried the 8" Thinsulate (no Gore-Tex) in a size 6 since I normally wear a women's size 7 but they were much too big. This year I ordered a kid's size 5 in the original and these ones with Thinsulate and Gore-Tex in the women's size 6 and both fit perfectly! These are the ones I'll be keeping due to the Thinsulate and Gore-Tex. They felt super comfortable walking around and have room for thick socks. I got my husband a matching men's pair (size 11 fit perfectly on his normal size 12 feet). Can't wait to try them out in this year's winter weather! Size 6 is a great size if you normally are a size 7!
