Rated 1 out of 5 by Guitarmaker from Horrible Fit I ordered a medium as I have a 33" waist. The waist band is easily large enough for a 38" waist and would even fit a 40, which takes them into extra large territory. The width of the legs is just so insanely wide (28+" for one leg), they look like clown pants. Reading other comments I see that a few have the same issues and many do not, so there must be some serious quality control issues. Some other supplex Bean shorts have similar comments, which makes me too nervous to order a smaller size or different style. I have never left any review on this site, but these were so very disappointing that I became a member just to warn people.

Rated 1 out of 5 by lablover09 from Far from 10" inseam as advertised These shorts were disappointing. I ordered 4 of these for my 16 year old son who is going to Costa Rica for 9 days on a school trip. He is 6ft tall and likes longer inseam shorts. The 10" would have been fine, but when they arrived, they looked too short. Sure enough I measured them and most of them were barely 9 1/2". One pair was so uneven that one side was 9" and the other was 9 1/2"! This is just plain poor sewing quality. It would have been better if there wasn't a mesh lining in them too. Whatever manufacturer LLBean is getting these from, they need to shape up. We'll need to find another type of short for his trip now. These are going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TxDoc from These are Great shorts! Ordered 4 pairs of these shorts five years ago. Wear them every day when walking the dogs down to the park. They are cool, comfortable, easy to care for, robust - in short, everything that guys could want. Added advantage: The legs are short enough that they do not look like the Kiddies' Knee-Length-Or-Lower Clown Shorts that infest "Mens' Shorts" fashion. --- Of the four pairs I originally ordered, 2 are still in perfect condition; the two others were torn while we dogs were plunging through the thick brush in the park. Okay, with my 2 Pits.... --- Only possible complaint: What happened to the orange color? That color looked great with a gray Tshirt (or a blue Tshirt if an Auburn fan.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by 65plus from Great for swimming and other uses I've used both the 6" cargo and the 6" classic shorts for lap swimming and as regular shorts for years. The medium now fits me to a tee (I slimmed down from large!) and the webbing is just right in or out of the pool. The fabric is more of a swimsuit fabric but for me that's not a problem wearing them as shorts. I would not want to see these changed in any way other than to see a few more color choices added. I swim year around and treat myself to new shorts at the beginning of each season: a few more colors would help now that I've cycled through all of them several times!

Rated 5 out of 5 by CaliNative from best whaleboat rowing shorts!! I was so happy when I saw these shorts were available. I got a similar pair about 2 years ago and they turned out to be my favorite ones for whaleboat rowing--the material is durable and slides well, they have side pockets where I can carry water bottle or gloves, and no back pockets that would be uncomfortable to sit on. Most shorts have back pockets. When I looked on line and saw that these do not (great being able to view front and back online!) and were like my favorites, I ordered several pairs right away. I still have my favorites too and will be wearing them in our first race of the season this Saturday!

Rated 5 out of 5 by beaneay from Supplex Cargo Shorts Live jn a very warm climate and these are my "Go To" shorts. They are light, comfortable, dry quickly and durable. Have two pair that have been worn doing every activity from yard work to gym, hiking, swimming and even out to dinner ( with shirt untucked to avoid seeing elastic waistband ). They have been washed, no exaggeration, hundreds of times and still look new. Fishing, food and carwashing stains come right out. Love the deep pockets that are often filled with my daily carry stuff. They show no signs of wear. Please keep making these and don't change them. When going out with the beautiful wife she will say "Don't wear a bathing suit" meaning the Supplex Cargo Shorts. I put them on anyway with an untucked polo shirt and she will say "Nice shorts. Are they new"? Nope, same old favorites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RebeccaJ from Perfect Truly love these! As a female who despises bathing suits, both one & two piece, I prefer board shorts, but don't like the velcro fronts at the waist. These shorts have a string-tie for the waist. I'm not a large girl (5'5"/130 lbs), so I bought size medium, and the fit is perfect. They dry quickly after swimming, so you can go someplace after without worrying about changing. I love these shorts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lookingyoung from sizing is a bit off I bought my husband 2 pairs of these shorts. He loves them, however, they do run a little big.........my husband is a medium a 32 inch waist. I looked at the reviews before I bought these shorts and I'm glad I did. I bought the small which fits perfect. I actually compared the waist with a medium swim suit from ll bean to these small cargo shorts and they are the same width. Hope this helps.
