Why We Love Them
Whoever says “they don’t build things like they used to,” doesn’t own these boots. Today, our signature boots are still sewn right here in Maine – one pair at a time – by expert craftspeople whose technical skills and passion for their work is evident in every pair of boots they make. Our “duck” boots combine the waterproof protection of rubber-bottom boots with the supple comfort of full-grain leather.
- Full-grain leather sheds rain and snow.
- Waterproof protection of rubber combined with the comfort of leather.
- A uniquely shaped foot form offers comfort and stability, and a steel shank adds support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fritz678 from SIZING HELP These are incredible boots. I just got them recently and I wear them all the time. If you're thinking a 6" might be too short- it's not. It's a great height and I like the height way better than my 8" sorel's. As for sizing, these boots are very different. I wear a size 12 in Vans and size 11.5 in every other shoe (Nike, Cole Haan, Adidas, Reebok, etc.) so I'm normally either a 11.5-12. I decided to order a size 10 in this boot because of all the reviews I read and it was a great decision. I have plenty of room in my size 10s- maybe even too much- so if you're thinking between a bigger or smaller size, go smaller. Overall, great boots though

Rated 1 out of 5 by LongTimeBeanShoppers from Disappointed boot buyer My boyfriend has been happily wearing Bean Boots for about 30 years. Lately though, the quality has really deteriorated. He normally wears a pair for a couple of years before they start to fall apart. His last pair didn't even make it through the summer before the leather separated from the rubber on both boots. He returned those for a replacement pair which he was hesitant to even wear for work, instead he saved them for light, recreational use. He's had this pair for about a month and on both boots the "leather" is actually peeling away where it rubs against his jeans. I'm so glad I have a pair that's a couple of years old, back when they were still well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yonkers from Boots I have 5 sons and a daughter. Four of my boys have your boots. They love them. One took them with him to England and a passerby asked him where he could get a pair. Around Christmas I ordered my husband a pair. Unfortunately you were out of stock, so I was put on backorder. I was then sent an adorable key chain and funny letter telling me the boots would be coming. What a great thing for your company to do...Perfect customer service!!!!! My husband received his "backorder" exactly when you promised they would arrive and simply loves them. Thanks again for a wonderful product. They certainly came in handy with this year's New York winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Verbal11 from Comfortable I live in Southern California so I don't normally have much use for rain boots, but I bought these for a trip to Seattle and figured these would last me a lifetime so overtime they'd get enough use to justify the purchase. Turns out this was one of the rainiest years on record in CA so I got plenty of opportunities to wear these boots and I love them! They are more comfortable than almost any other shoe I own. Obviously they keep my feet dry, and with a pair of wool socks they stay warm too. They seem to be built very well and I have no reason to believe that I won't have these for the rest of my life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boris86 from Excellent everyday boot I live in a cold climate with snow on the ground 6 months of the year. This boot is the perfect compliment to my 12" Bean Boots. I wear these when snow on the ground is 4" or less and the higher boots when there's more snow. The boots fit large as described so you must buy one full size down AND wear them with the ragg socks. If you follow that advice these boots will keep your feet warm and dry through winter. The first few times I wore these the leather cut my calf in an awkward place. This was remedied by wearing the higher version of the ragg socks. I highly recommend this boot and wish they hadn't eliminated the dark brown version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JuanDirection from BEFORE YOU ORDER!!! I never write reviews, but this was needed; BEFORE YOU ORDER, I'd recommend ordering 1 size lower because they do run big. I had to exchange them because they were too big even with very thick wool socks. NOTE they're customer service is TOP NOTCH! If you're a half size, I'd still recommend going a half size down. WONDERFUL SHOES! LOVE EM! I GET A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS AND THEY'RE VERY COMFORTABLE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND THEY ARE VERY HIGH QUALITY! I BOUGHT A CABELA'S KNOCKOFF ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO AND THOUGH THEIRS WAS GOOD FOR THE GREAT, I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO SPEND DOUBLE/TRIPLE THE MONEY FOR THESE. LL BEAN HAS A LOT OF PRIDE BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ZackS from Perfect for WNC climate These are my 2nd pair. Rather than replace the bottoms of my 1st pair (the heels are worn off one corner after 20 years) I ordered a new set of boots. If I had thought about it I think I would have had my old ones repaired. It cost same amount. These boots are perfect for casual or rough wear in my opinion. The 6" version is just right for the mud, snow and heavy rain we get-- easy to get on and off, easy to keep clean. I like that I can wipe my feet and not worry about tracking a lot of mud and water after. Years ago my brother (also a Bean Boot man) suggested Superfeet insoles to reduce back fatigue and they work great. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lovetheadks from Best hiking boots I purchased my 6" LL Bean boots about four years ago just to have for rainy slushy weather around NW PA. That was about the same time that I was taking an avid interest in hiking and was trying to decide on a good hiking boot. Until then I thought I would try the Bean boots, and I haven't changed since. With a couple pair of socks, they do an outstanding job. They are comfortable and I have never gotten my feet wet. I not only hike in them but wear them for all my outdoor chores around home. They have gotten an extreme workout and are still in excellent shape. I just purchased some 8" Bean boots for winter hiking. Can't wait to get them.
