Rated 5 out of 5 by WaggieLLBeanshopper from Purchasing first waist pack Had seen my first one on my cousin's husband first day of buck season. Thought very practical. Ordered one from L L Bean with a little information via e-mail with Bean rep. When arrived, found that it met my needs to hold all the extras that junk up your pockes such as tow ropes, gloves, extra ammo(doon't rattle around like it does in your pocket. Question?? What is the front compartment work as to use?? Has two straps to open, but both ends open?? Like flap when both fastners are undone?? Is much better quality that my cousins as to mfg. and looks. Thank you for another fine product. It could use some velcro on the sides or something when worn over a coat??

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gobbler12 from Affordable, well-made, and customizable I wanted a simple, relatively inexpensive, not-overly-bulky "fanny pack" in blaze orange for deer hunting in the fall and for exploring the woods during the rest of the year. This one was the only model on the market anywhere that met my needs. There was a fairly large, buckled flap on the outside that I think was designed to hold, say, a rolled-up rain jacket. That seemed cumbersome to me, so I simply cut it off with a pair of sharp sewing scissors. Lo and behold, there was a handy zippered pocket underneath. At the risk of nit-picking, I do think that the black nylon fabric at the bottom of the main compartment is too light. A piece of rugged Cordura would have been far more durable. That said, this is a terrific pack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NYgal from Needs Work An OK waist pack (sent back 2 backpacks before) in blaze orange. Fabric OK, rain got the outside wet - water didn't bead up, but the inside stayed dry. Quiet in the woods but picks up dirt, debris & forest litter. Design needs work - cut off the useless back flap and the buckles on the topside, still trying to remove the plastic pieces attached to the pack. The flap made it impossible to easily access the back zippered pocket, which has a key holder - nice! But a couple of inside dividers or zippered pouches would help, because everything you put in the main pocket stays loose and liable to fall out. The small outside pockets - useless: no closure, too small for water bottles, can't figure out what you'd want to put in them (shells would fall out - why not put some shell holders in there??? Workable, usable, but needs improvement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LeftyShepherd from A good Waist Pack I've bought three of these now because I like them. I like the overall size pack and the fact that it is easy to access the contents. There is room on the belt for a sheath knife and a couple of other gizmos. I've had packs that are too big and have too many compartments. I find this size just right for western hunting. My only gripe is that belt adjustments can slip a bit during a day of use. I've added some aftermarket strap fittings to help with that issue. Overall: Very good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Michele651 from Great Capacity & Great Weight Balance Overall this Lumbar Pack is a great addition to my Trail/Hiking necessities; I will say that while I was skeptical of carrying this on my back with weight in it, I hardly notice it there! I do wish there more compartments so that I could separate stuff a little better but this works nicely. I carry a small emergency kit in the front pouch and use the main compartment for storing light layers, gloves, water etc. you can get quite a bit in there! The styling with the front flap is odd and the only thing that makes sense is that it detaches for Water Bottles and allows you to secure them in tightly; other than that the front flap is useless to annoying. The fabric is a fleece, so yes it does pick up stuff from the trail, but it is easily brushed off with your hand. Since I use this for Afternoon Trail Hikes, I wanted something in the bright orange for visablity especially during Hunting Season - this fits the bills nicely!

Rated 3 out of 5 by moosehunta from waist pack While this is not the greatest waist pack it was the only orange one I could find. It will serve my purpose during deer season. It seems comfortable although I have not worn it while hunting yet. It should hold every thing I need during a day hunt. I had to go online to find out what a couple of the features were. The 2 elastic side pockets don't seam big enough for anything. Too bad it wasn't made in USA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BigSteve57 from Good value I bought one of these to go along with it's cousin, the "Trail Model Hunting Pack, Hunter Orange". The fabric is the same and my experience with this pack is the same as with the other: the fabric picks up dirt due to its soft brushed nature. It is however quiet and that can be an advantage while hunting. Overall it's a well made pack for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLoutdoorsman from Hunter's waist pack This fanny pack is just what I was looking for. It's just the right size for all the little things you need to bring with you for a day hunting. If you get tired of it being around your waist you can also sling it over your shoulder for easier access.
