Rated 4 out of 5 by kyotesue from Great Sweater but don't dry clean it! I loved loved loved this sweater so much. It was soft, not scratchy at all, just the right weight, the longer length and easy fit was perfect, it did not bind or cling to bulges. I wore it to Ireland for 3 weeks of traveling. When I came home, I had it dry cleaned. DO NOT dry clean this sweater, it shrunk 2 sizes and turned scratchy. LL Bean, in their usual good customer service, is replacing my sweater. You can bet I will only hand wash it in cold water, one of two recommended cleaning methods listed on the tag. And yes, I would dearly love to have one in my size with the V neck. I would buy one in every color, even if it DOES require hand washing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by venice05 from classic and versatile This is a wonderful classic crewneck sweater that can transition easily from work to weekend, and can be worn in all but the warmest weather. It fits true to size, and looks just as good worn by itself as it does under a blazer or over a shirt or turtleneck. I wash it on the hand-wash cycle of my front-loader, let it dry flat, and it looks great with little or no steaming. There is no sign of color fading even on the sweaters I've worn and washed many times. The occasional pills that form on all cashmere sweaters can be removed easily. Now I hope LLBean will offer these wardrobe staples in chocolate brown, deep plum, burnt orange, hunter green, or similar colors for fall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by caidie from cashmere sweater i was appalled at the poor quality. Cashmere? did not feel like it and did not keep me warm for the 4 minutes i wore it. wore another Bean cashmere into the store where i returned it and said to the clerk feel my arm, and now feel the sweater. she GASPED i'm so sad that this is what you are selling as cashmere today. my guess is you won't print this review but i do hope someone reads it and examines the product. i bought my husband a v-neck a few weeks before, cashmere i mean, and it was wonderful. what the heck happened to you guys with this sweater. $100. for this? please someone do something. i'm done here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by flowerchild48 from They finally had them! I've always missed the black and off white cashmere sweaters when they became available. Guess I looked too late in the season. When I saw them a few weeks ago, I immediately ordered them. Since it is August and about 98 degrees with 78% humidity it is impossible to wear them, but I did try them on. They are not as soft as some of the cashmere sweaters I have, but they are a great weight and are not at all itchy. You cannot see through the off white one like you can on some sweaters in lighter colors. They are a bit boxier than some as well. The style is lovely though and can be dressed up or down. I am planning on taking them on vacation with me since we will be traveling in cooler temperatures.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MorningDove from Nice Sweater I got this in Camel Heather. It seemed rather lightweight for a cashmere winter sweater, but I liked the color so I started wearing it. Its a nice classic sweater. The crewneck is okay...I might have preferred a v-neck, but I didnt see one offered. This weight is okay for over a long sleeve shirt, under a huge coat, here in New York during winter, going in and out of heated buildings. This sweater actually grew on me... Its ohnestly not the most well made sweater Ive seen for the price... Im a little disappointed. If you can get in on sale, that'd be preferable. Its pretty warm, looks sharp and the camel heather is beautiful! Pricey but nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RNN1545 from Favorite, warmest, softest sweater ever This is my second cashmere pullover sweater from LL Bean and its my favorite sweater. I have the gray and now the oatmeal color. Both of these are versatile and perfect for any wardrobe. The oatmeal color is a lot darker than i thought it'd be. I was hoping for more of a light tan color, but this is definitely closer to brown than tan. The sweater itself is the warmest and softest thing in the world and worth the $99 price. I'm always hesitant to purchase expensive sweaters, but I know LL Bean makes high quality products that last. It's such an investment piece and makes any outfit look like a million bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by vars from truly classic I ordered this in the black, liked it so much I ordered the gray (patiently waiting while it's on backorder). I wanted the sold out sable and was happy to see it reappear last week. I wore it already as it's a cool May week. These sweaters are such a classic fit. They hang beautifully. The cashmere seems to be as soft and as of good quality as the ones I've had for years. The best part is I could order a petite size and not have to fold back the cuffs. I've washed the black one and it turned out fine. These sweaters are ones I expect my daughter to still be wearing years from now!

Rated 4 out of 5 by KylafromCA from Nice enough but not cozy I ordered the classic cashmere crewneck in the teal, size 1X. I currently wear a size 18 and am 5'6" tall. It fits perfectly. I wish the neck was a tad lower because it is kind of uncomfortable, especially since it is more scratchy than cozy and when the neck is so high, my undertank doesn't protect the skin. I wanted to order a size up so it would be roomier, but my husband says it would look frumpy. I guess it fits just right. I also wish it was longer- it currently hits right above my hip bone. Overall it is a nice sweater, but I was hoping for a bit more luxury for the price.
